216 SX? Don't think I've ever seen one!

It was a run-out model - carb engine but gussied up to look like a Vitesse, if I recall.  Around the same time as they were doing those two-tone Montego and Maestro LXs, with the grey tide mark up to the first swage line.  Ah, I miss the eighties.

WOOF! Some serious pieces on the last two pages of this thread.

I'm going to have to get my Amazon some plates like that horisont blÃ¥ example.

Isn't this ad from the person who is continually re-listing the same Ami(s), and the 'scrap' CX, over and over again? Why ??

******WARNING WHAT HAS BEEN SEEN CANNOT BE UNSEEN********

It's a Nova, you know, cute little hatchbacks, sometimes in early models, painted in some truly appalling colours, like Sludge Green, Terracotta Turd, and Bile Yellow.

It's a 1.2, but with no engine.....

Are you ready?

Sure????

$_35.JPG Surely this must win something; "Autoshite Kill It With Fire" award for the month / quarter / year?

Amazingly it's got a bid at £450 RNM.

Billy, stay sober tonight old bean....

I love the way that Saab seller knows every last detail about the car and the life of the owner ...

DURING ITS USE THE CAR WAS KEPT IN A GARAGE OVERNIGHT AND WAS NOT ALWAYS USED ON A DAILY BASIS AS THE OWNER HAD SEVERAL CARS AND WAS OFTEN DRIVEN BY HER STAFF, THIS WAS HER PERSONNEL CAR WHICH APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN USED VERY LIGHTLY OVER THE YEARS, IT WOULD APPEAR OFTEN FOR TRIPS TO VISIT COUNTRY HOUSES AND THE LIKE.

I'm all for doing your own thing but some cars just prove that, simply because you can, doesn't mean you should

Far nicer car before the chop, IMHO

I went to see a BMW 740i the guy selling the Saab had earlier this year, very pleasant and friendly but could talk a bit, didn't come up for air much. Had some old Mercs, Bentleys and Roller I seem to remember, some still on Ebay.

This Monza looks like it could potentially make a decent project, although the photos are almost completely useless.

This look immaculate, electric everything and power steering, at £995 I'd thought it was a bit of a bargain.

Had a feeling bollox would like that. I never knew there was a 2 door version.

Do it Mr B, what are the chances of ever seeing another?

There are two ways to chop a top.

A. So that the car looks good afterwards;

B. The way it is commonly done, and was done here.

To chop a top is an art. It's not cutting a section out of the roof pillars.

To do a Winfield chop on a '49-'51 Mercury requires the roof section to be cut into 19 pieces.
