^ Those things (the Stretch town cars) rot like a BASTARD. 4.6 Ford V8 (a la Rover 75) in some of em. I know a guy who runs one, and he has to get it welded probs twice a year, and has to go to a place that has a special 4 post lift. Utter shit. He's had it fully re-upholstered (at great cost) yet it still smells of alcopops and fanny batter.

The seller of this is the guy that won my E280 then fucked me about for a week before refusing to complete the sale.

 

I sincerely* hope no-one would do the same to him.

I've been looking at those SL's. Here's an SL500 v8 one with a hardtop for 3 grand.

However I drove one a few years ago that one of the guys at work had bought and thought it was thunderously shite. It could have been because it was an SL300 but it leaked, was slow and had a dazzling selection of warning lights on . Also the roll over hoop popped up for no reason while it was just sitting in the car park.

They did the 3.7 A8 as Quattro and front wheel drive. Obviously inspired by the winning handling of the Cadillac STS.

A 2wd Audi A8 is surely the shiters choice amongst A8s.

 

Other markets could even get them with a manual 'box.

I looked at a 2.8 Quattro A8 a year or so ago. It was a really nice car as it had the facelift interior with the leather recaro style seats etc but it was oh so very slow.
