Think XT is just a trim level on these V70s. You do get a standard 4x4 estate, as well as the jacked up XC versions.

Loving this Monte Carlo, never realised the buttresses in them were glazed though, what a wonderfully pointless waste of glass.

It's a GOOD DAY if you want a broken red Rover P6 with some random bit cut out of it!

 

CAR ONE: Engineless, hole cut in roof

I recon these Fourtraks are on the endangered species list. They rust like total bastards, have a body kit who's sole functions seems to be to keep wet mud up against thin metal and no-one can really be arsed with them. Shame as I hear they're good off-road. In 5 years they'll probably have the last 2 in Edinburgh zoo trying to make them mate (unsuccessfully). Given that is we've not sold off Edinburgh zoo to fund Alex Salmonds war efforts against the independant republic of Millport

What does the E stand for in the 2.6E I'm presuming give it's a v6 it's not economy? Nice looking car though.

 

 

Same as it stands for in most German cars I'd guess, Einspritzung. Or fuel injection.

 

Quite like these old Audi coops, there was a boggo 2 litre 8v one of these just up the road advertised on Ebay that I nearly ended up with if I hadn't bought the Volvo.

Not since the mid-80s, when they stopped making cars and started making computers that occasionally drive.

Since then it stands for Eco, as in ecologically-friendly. Should really be 'B' for bollocks.

Dread to think, but I heard a rumour that John Swinney's first budget will slap 100% export duty on old Volvo estates.

 

 

Now then Junkchap, was just thinking of you: HERE'S a dog-and-tip runabout for me.  Pricier than I had in mind at £6k, but then it's at least twice as much car as I was planning.
