Piss away a weekend* on this?

$_35.JPGYou'd need some major SKILLORZ to be getting that back....doesn't appear to be worth buying for spares. But what do I know? Matey's got it on at £495 start. No bids, one day to go. GRAB A DIVORCE / MONEYPIT BARGAIN*

Bugger. I'm pissed and lobbed a bid on this, and have ended up the winning bidder. Good job it's only in East London, I'll collect it after work next week. Will watch the temp gauge like a hawk!

Well done Rob, you're a Rover connisewer of the highest caliber.  I was looking at that one myself, would probably have chanced a bid if it'd been a tourer, doubt it'd have been as cheap if it was though.  Keep it locked up securely lest Mr Bo11ox pays you a visit and pinches the engine out of it.

This looks like it needs a fair bit of work, but an increasingly rare chance to bag an Ami 6 saloon for sensible (ish) money.

And..

That's the same hoover I've got.  Good bit of kit.  Four stage microfiltration FTW!

I had a Yamaha V90 a few years back.  It was a funny thing - zippy engine but ludicrously undergeared, it would wheelie on the throttle in first gear but ran out of revs at about 45

As I suspected would happen, buyer only contacted me this evening with some bull about the car not starting so maybe it's best we cancel the transaction. Sold for less than he hoped obviously. I just said yeah ok whatever, can't be arsed following it up. Shame as I was looking forward to a bit of cheap 75 action!

I would at least have sent him one back saying that you didn't mind what had happened in the mean time and can I have the collection address please. If only to laugh at the next reply you get.

+1

Just think of the fun you could have had as the excuses became ever-more desperate and far-fetched :)

The Alvis is the one that was on Winchester Road. The car is visible on streetview and it matches one of the pictures on the eBay listing.
