is that a Chrysler 180 in the background?

Might be, however it looks like a Viva to me

Well spotted, and a P5B behind that (or it might be a Viva...)

Edit: Just checked the seller's other items, no Chrysler but he seems to have a selection of NOS bumpers for various Austins if anyone's etc.

I thought all Fiat 127's had a hatchback by the time that facelift came out.

Love that SD3. It looks like it has driven straight from a late nineties council estate.

I agree it looks very much like Chrysler 180. My uncle used to own one in the late 70's.

There was an immaculate looking 16v hatchback - in Carlisle I think - on ebay about 18 months ago that failed to make much over £600 as well. I was well shocked at that!

It's incredible isn't it?  For the price of a new VW Golf TDi or some such one could have a road-version of every single 90s touring car.  If I'd studied harder in sixth-form that could be my life RIGHT NOW! [sigh.]

This looks class and the guy selling it sounds like a winner too.

Agreed.  I hope I'm still messing about with crap old cars in 47 year's time!

must sell because I shall be 80 next birthday

In other news, who was saying they like jumbo-CFs?

This one looks hard as tungsten-carbide drills.

Just noticed it's a 2.9 manual, rather an unusual combination, surely after a hard night pulling pints you want the car to change its own gears?

I imagine the original owner saved up for an eternity to get a big-engined Jag but then couldn't afford to tick anything on the options list.  Mind you, it does have alloys.  Seriously tempted to throw a cheeky bid in, which is insane given the lack of anywhere to park it or any money to fix it.

Edit: Well, it would have been rude not to.

Those pov spec 2.9 40's only existed so that Jaguar could undercut the list price of the top Granadas,Senators and 800s. It's easy to forget the XJ40 had to compete with everything from an e28 525i to an e32 750iL with only engine and trim changes.

I was about to say something complimentary about that Fiorino - but then I saw it was a "barn find". Oh, just fuck off.
