What sort of mpg would one get from a big old '80s tractor unit, just using it to run about in with no trailer? Can't be more than about 15 surely?

The manual ones were ace cars and considering 5th gear was their main Achille's heel, then that one should be ace if it's running right. They're great cars for every day and distance use, highly recommend them.
