This looks rather jolly, what what

'owned by me past 23yrs in gazelle beige'

..and the previous three in Fuschia Pink with orange diamonds on the door?

'Will only sell to enthusiast'

Yes, good luck with that one. Short of someone called 'Penile_Infection_BMW_Destroyers_1980' bidding on it how exactly are you going to weed out any 'non-enthusiasts'?

This should be within easy reach of 2 Autoshiters I think. Perhaps DW can supply the matches and Louise the petrol?

'I've listed as unfinished because I've not quite completed making it into a potential NCAP score of minus several hundred. Decided relocating the battery right behind the driver's seat wasn't enough, so I made a dashboard out of a sharpened biscuit tin with a couple of bollock smashing Scania master switch keys, just to be on the unsafe side'

Someone really, really needs to save this Sierra!, 1 owner from new, 18k and it looks near mint...

5 Speed gearbox, 2.0 Pinto Engine, ideal for kit car

Fuck that shitty kit car, That Sierra is a 1000 times better!

ARGH!!!

Surely that's worth more on it's own? If you really wanted the Sierra, what could you do with the plastic thing? Burn it?

I know the garage in Preston that has that "Gold dust" Carina, they also have or had until recently a tidy looking 1984 Camry for 1500 (started off at 2k).......

Arrghhh, that green Camry still annoys me. I wish I’d bought it when it was only a few miles from me, before it got transported up north and the price inflated thanks to a doubtless rather hasty bit of bodywork.

Gotta love the K-reg Camry estate from a page or two back. Best car in the world, ever.

Don't mean to rub it in but;

Apparently there were only ever 10 of these vehicles produced for the UK market

I'm not convinced...

Me neither

I knew of two of them, one was radically shortened by a pissed up dolly sprint pilot in 1984 he did a hit and run and dumped the properly fucked sprint outside my folks house, the rozzers hid in a drive 2 doors up and nicked the motorist when he returned to the scene 1/2 hour later. Silly bastard hadn't had a chance to report it stolen and overheard to do so to the coppers who were busy nicking him.

The second my mate was interested in buying in he late 80's, we were put off by the hammerite tide mark over the top of duck tape covering the bottom 4" of the doors

So this must therefore be one of 8 unaccounted for

I also seem to recall that they were miserably slow

Guess who's looking wistfully at ageing Mazda's this evening?

I worked for a Mazda dealer for a couple of years when I was 17/18, and can on the rare occasion got to drive a company demo or a customer car - a white 323F GT was one of them. Only for a couple of miles, but for a new driver used to an old shape 323 1.3, the 1.8 was a total powerhouse!

Not sure if this belongs here or in the bargains thread, a mere 31k miles but £2995...

I learned to drive in one of these, power steering was such a novelty in the good old days when I was a lad (god that makes me feel old!) It was a proper gearbox though, none of this namby-pamby Heather Mills special nonsense.

THERE IS EVEN THE LETTER FROM THE SUPPLYING DEALER CONGRATULATING THE BUYER ON PURCHASING A NEW TOYOTA.

WELL THAT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE THEN.

Cleverly photographed in a bush, this has only done 28k and is yours for £550. He's even been kind enough to say when the MOT expired.

Interesting colour choice.

Nice. Not mad about those wacky US-spec headlights though.

I've got a boner for one of these, but I know it's a bad move when eBay has more for sale as "spares + repair" than actual working ones...

TBH those Fiat Coupes are damn good cars. Mainly the timing belt on the 5pots write them off, as they are a pig to do, hence don't get changed and internal valve/piston interface occurs.

Posted

Did I read somewhere that the cambelt's an engine-out job?

Posted

Supposedly but a bloke I know swears there's a way of doing it without removing the engine.

Posted

Its about a six hour job, but you don't need to take the engine out to do it.

Posted

The colour on that Carlton has probably been inspired by a police car of some sort.

^ 6 hours! Fair play. Book time is 14. It took me and a mate a whole weekend to do one on a Turbo, although we did remove the engine, from the bottom. A complete Peter Mandelson of a job. Both of us tried to figure out how to do it with the engine in, but were stumped.

Thought I'd repost this as its ending in 10 mins and is still at a not too salty £200. I'd love someone to buy this and stick a silly engine in there.... V8 anyone?

Fancy a rare tax exempt budget runabout? Feeling brave?

All fixable stuff though, If you lived locally I'm sure you could have it on the road for about £1000 and a fair bit of time :D

This Alfa Sprint is a little hottie, with apparently little rottie. Currently at £1115 with a couple of days to go, but RNM so maybe too posh for the likes of us.
