Does not meet the current car purchase mantra of “pleasure not a project”

That’s lovely, looks to have had its Hydragas refurbished as well

Is it just me or did the box sound a bit whiney in the video?

Otherwise yes, and the engine bay is immaculate

Says the reg is transferable but it's not been on the road for 50+ years and no evidence of any previous MOT etc.

I was originally going to comment that I thought it seemed a bit high on the suspension compared to the ones I saw/drove back in the day.
So I Googled a bit and realised that I was just having another of my senior moments - an awful lot of them looked/look like that. IIRC they went well enough but that was the 1750cc Allegro 3 automatics at work :-)

I think it is sitting a little high, the centre of the hub cap is supposed to align with the sill from memory, there were differences between the different series.

The under bonnet shot shows the added valves on the Hydragas units, probably overhauled by the Kennedys

"I was'nt looking to buy this, i saw it in january in the Subaru dealership where my subaru was being serviced and just had to own it."

Bought in January 2026

Original plate pulled in May 2026 after 88 years.

I bet he 'just had to own it'.

Oof!

Erm, I doubt it, that's an A+ under the bunnet!

Well it wouldn't have been 5 speed originally, but the 1275cc A+ was available with a 5 speed box in the Maestro and Montego, so possibly the box has been changed.

The Maestro box was end-on, this one's in the sump, so unless it's been replaced with one of the expensive Minispares ones, it's a 4-speed.
