Mr Laurence Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Very Low Mileage Mk6 Escort, Registed in, and still local to Glasgow. Could the worlds most specific car hunt finally be over? https://www.gumtree.com/p/ford/ford-escort-nice-clasice-car-%C2%A3595-3-owners-37000/1269192628 EDIT - Despite what the ad led me to believe, this car is due an MOT, and if the previous test result is anything to go by, it's pretty crispy underneath. I seriously doubt that it's worth anywhere near £600 Cavcraft, fiatdaft, alcyonecorporation and 4 others 7

Junkman Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Looking at where he's had it serviced, the car must have cost him ten times what he's asking. What keeps me away from watchlisting it is that I'm afraid that despite its looks, it might have Japanese suspension.
Matt Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282682321470 need a bit of tlc That's a funny way to spell coup de grâce. In fact it's only up the road from me so maybe I'll go give it one. Edit:Offside Direction indicators flashing less than 60 times a minute (1.4.A.2g) First time I've seen that, must have been pretty tedious to work out (unless it was like three time in a minute). I googled it and saw a fail on another car for indicators flashing more than 120 time in a minute. What would cause an issue like this? Aston Martin, MorrisItalSLX, Junkman and 2 others 5

wuvvum Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 What would cause an issue like this?Knackered flasher relay or (more likely on a Robin Reliant) dodgy earth. Easily remedied with an electronic relay, available for a few quid off eBay. pompei 1
Matt Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Knackered flasher relay or (more likely on a Robin Reliant) dodgy earth. Easily remedied with an electronic relay, available for a few quid off eBay. Dodgy earths a common problem on them? It feels like every time I've ever looked at the MOT history on a Reliant they've been plagued with fails for electrics (mainly lights it seems) not working.
somewhatfoolish Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 That's a funny way to spell coup de grâce. In fact it's only up the road from me so maybe I'll go give it one.Provided 'one' involves a car crusher or a jet wash and a coat of paint, fill your boots. The vendor deserves poked in the eye with a sharp stick just for the 'Robin Reliant'. mercrocker, Jerzy Woking, Cavcraft and 2 others 5
wuvvum Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Dodgy earths a common problem on them?Yep - tends to be the case with fibreglass cars as you can't earth the lights through the body like you normally would. Metrocabs are a pain in the arse for it as well.
