How to sell a car that's utterly fucked.

Rule 1: Do not completely remove the tarp.

Rule 2: Photograph some random mess, so the buyer is unable to see what he gets.

Rule 3: Pretend to be ignorant despite you obviously know everything about it:

Rule 4: Do not clearly state that you have flogged the parts made from unobtainium separately:

He missed the "i am told", absolute own goal, loads of opportunities.

Would I be absolutely insane bidding on this blind? How tender could it be underneath?

Probably, but I like your style. I wanted I one s few years ago but my rented lock-up was only a few CMs wider than the car. If I had gotten it in there I'd have to get out via the boot or something.

Very.  They're known for it.  They especially seem to enjoy rotting under and behind the seats, thus effectively breaking the car's back if it gets bad enough.

Go and see it, by all means, but don't go in blind!  Listen to one who knows!

Edit: since typing the above, I've taken the trouble to read the listing.  My advice has changed accordingly.

RUN AWAY!

Why do I spend more time imagining how great it would be to own half of the tatty old mongrels on this thread, than Ferraris or whatever?

My Dad's old car, we both bought this as a joint project in Nov 1984 for I think £800. It stood in his garage and he put it on the road in 1998 after a partial engine and gearbox rebuild, it was used for shows around Yorkshire for the next 8 years before being taken off the road again where he fitted some outer and inner sills, he sold it to a dealer down South about 5 years ago, I believe it was then sold to a car collector before being auctioned a couple of years later and moving onto the present owner in Worcestershire, I think this was at the auction at the NEC car show in May this year but didn't sell
