When buying a boat, what would a winner do? Install a boat anchor.

We bought it in 1991 (4 previous owners) with a petrol engine but my husband preferred diesel so we went to Perkins in Peterborough and bought a 4236 Turbo Diesel. With a Milner conversion kit (invoice available upon request) and a replacement gearbox, she then passed the m.o.t and was put on the road in May 1992.

Junkman's 'badly written advert' radar is on maximum, that BMW has some classics in it.

Could you even still buy a new 4.236 in 1991?  I thought those old lumps had long since been phased (geddit?) out by then.

Maybe Mr. Bo11ox can enlighten us.

So fervently has this person embraced miserliness that they've seen fit to take something which runs on nothing more than the fumes from the car in front and LPG it. Sadly though, the rust on the wheelarch reveals this vision of austerity is probably entering its final days as underneath it will probably be completely fucked.

This is a probate sale

We got this out of the dry family

we put freash fuel in a battery

She ran well with good oil pressure, I drove her up and down the private road the brakes and clutch worked well. Then the oil pressure dropped and the hydraulic tappets become noisy, I let her tick over and the oil pressure came back and she went quite again but the oil pressure dropped again and I turned her off,as I did not want to any damage.

You borked it, you muppet.

All in all this is a fairly straightforward restoration depending on your skill levels.

All in all this is a fairly nice way to say it's fucked.
