Alfasud Ti for 5000SEK

Runs perfectly but off the road for 12 years but, it says, probably really easy to get its ticket, after all what could be wrong with an Alfasud thats been parked up for over a decade. It gave the previous owner Alzheimers.

Looks nice though

It is 5000 SEK, but that is about 430 GBP.

Would be worth a bit more without those wheel trims I reckon

The mot history on that is not a comforting read.

Which is a shame.

Potentially daft question but

Service brake: efficiency below requirements (3.7.B.7)
Parking brake: efficiency below requirements (3.7.B.7)

Are they different things?

Haha! That Vitesse is on my watch list! Does anyone know it? Typically its miles away in Wakefield and I'm on holiday next week so i can't get up there for a week so thats me probably out. :(

Edsel.  I can't make my mind up about these.

On the one hand, they're a staple of the lazy journalist's 'top 20 worst cars' list, so there's a bit of 'look at me, I'm bonkers I am, in my funny car' about them, which the Trabant is also tainted with in my mind.

On the other hand, just look at it:

This is on the SD1 forums about it.

I'm sure I went to look at this car a few years ago (at least five or six years) and it looks like a lot's been done since then (at least a respray). Pretty certain the owner was called Ray and he was a very nice guy.

It ran very well but had some rust in the usual places including a bit of untidy welded patches at the top of the struts if I remember rightly and the damage to the dash which is still visible in the pics. I seem to remember the owner telling me it had a chequered past (ownership wise) and had been owned by a drug dealer (or something on those lines!)

Hmmm... I might pass on that then, I haven't got time to view it anyway at the moment. back in 2007 it had a LOT of advisories on the mot including

  • Tyres slightly out of shape due to car being stood
  • This car has been stood for a long time and signs of corrosion everywhere under car on floors and inner sills including suspension components and spring seats

Sounds like it's had a respray so some of those issues may have been dealt with.

Or wobbed over.

That 360 does look nice, and does need saving from the OMGDRIFTYO mob. Quite a luxurious little thing as well

This could turn out interesting....

23 hours to go, a dozen views and less than a ton.

Identical listing, same seller as BIN is £1200.

Lobbed a bid in of a few hundred - wonder what would happen if I did win it?
