Split_Pin Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 It looks in great condition! Look at those arches. Cheers for the easy transaction also chap, the Cavalier drives smashing, very wafty. It was a bonny drive back up through Ponteland and beyond. It hasn't even used 1/4 of the full tank you put in despite me pressing on. dome, Jim Bell and Tickman 3

I don't think you'll manage to get it below 40 mpg even if you really peddle it. 50 is easily achievable if you're careful too. Not that being careful is too much fun. Split_Pin 1

Pop in my CD and let me run a rhyme And put your car on cruise and lay back cause this is summertime Riding around in your benzos The temperature's about 88 Then six o'clock rolls around You just finished wiping your car down It's time to cruise so you head to the summertime hangout It looks like a car show Everybody come lookin real fine Fresh from the barber shop or fly from the beauty salon Every moment frontin and maxin Chillin in the car they spent all day waxin Leanin to the side but you can't speed through 10* miles an hour so everybody sees you There's an air of love and of happiness Excellent day all round. I celebrated when I got back with a Domino's. Over did it and feel like that gluttony victim out of the movie Se7en. Took the replacement out for a blast and it's pretty nippy. Deceptively fast. License losing speeds in mere seconds. (Hence sale of this beauty) The only thing that eases the pain is knowing how smitten you are with it. I don't think I'll ever buy a better value for money car ever again. Incredibly well bought by Peter originally and I just got lucky. Thanks for today @Jim Bellit was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. I couldn't help but smile knowing how you'd feel driving home. One day I'll have another. Jim Bell and rusty998 1 1
Jim Bell Posted June 13, 2021 Author Posted June 13, 2021 I was hoping to get 40 mpg on the drive home. No chance, but still didn't do too bad considering. Peter C, 320touring, Split_Pin and 4 others 7

Most of my current driving is just going to the shops and back but what a way to go to the shops!! It's a big old sausage and visibility is bumcack to the front and rear so I'm actually considering getting parking sensors fitted. I really don't want to bump it. Cracking W210 and it looks remarkably tidy. So much so, that I checked its MoT history which assures me it is actually just a normal W210 and not some miracle rust free version. Jim Bell 1

It's definitely been welded on in the past but it looks like one of the better ones, metal wise. The_Equalizer 1

Peter C Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Excellent news, it seems that it’s gone to a good home. I know what you mean about its size and visibility but it’s nowhere near as bad as the CLS that I had a few years ago. Even with parking sensors it was a nightmare to manoeuvre. Jim Bell 1

Jim Bell Posted June 29, 2021 Author Posted June 29, 2021 Other than that, I'll be investigating the air con non functionality and will be getting parking sensors fitted at some point.

Yes, they were already begining to curl up at the edges! Mind you they were probably just cringing at my badge and stickers. If youre protecting vehicle carpet or going on a date, I always suggest the heavyist rubber. Don't rely on the thin stuff. You'll just end up pulling them out at the last minute. Jim Bell Posted October 28, 2021 Author Posted October 28, 2021 Well. Its been a while since I updated this thread. I can't say much things of note have occured, it's generally just been a reliable comfortable car. Not long after my last post, I got a weird eBay boner and bid on some REAL DEAL OEM RUBBER MATS.
