Car booked in for service and cambelt replacement at the end of the month. As it will be off the road for a couple of days or so I will need transport, I'm torn between buying some chod or hiring a car for a few days.

I've successfully bid for some chod on a certain bay of E. All being well I collect Sunday. Any guesses as to what I've bought? It isn't a Ford.

The seller had owned it since 2012, his daughters had tears in their eyes as I drove off bless them

They had bought a new car so the Matiz had to go. I've only done a few miles so far but it drives really nicely. It's done just under 91000 miles.

That's nicely bought for not a lot of money.

Thanks I think so too, there's a few marks on it but that's to be expected given its age and the air con doesn't work but never did in the 7 years the previous owner had it either.

My OH has just seen the Matiz for the first time and seems to prefer it to the Focus.

Well bought, there seem to be a lot of Bank Holiday bargains about.

Forgot to add my OH was surprised how small a Matiz is when she saw it.

I'd be interested in the Matiz' economy figures if you get round to working them out.

I'll try and work them out for you once I have more to go off.

Took the Focus for a run out to Rutland this morning, over 200 mile round trip. Boy was I glad of the air conditioning. Now done over 13000 miles since purchase.

I thought about taking the Matiz this morning but as the air conditioning doesn't work and I haven't had it long enough to be sure about its reliability I thought best take the Focus, though I want to give the Matiz a decent run out somewhere. The seller said the only time the Matiz let them down in nearly 7 years was last winter when the battery failed.

Just got a secondhand parcel shelf for the Focus off bay of E. £36 including delivery not bad.
