Wonder if you could get away with taking this on the train with you.................claim it's an electric scooter.......

I'm resolutely not a two-wheelerist but even I was sorely tempted when this came up for the first time.

£200 for one of these MOT'd and in fine fettle is a megabarg. I've been having Visions (see what I did there?) of using summat like this for the daily station run, thereby leaving the Subaru of much turbocharged thirstiness in the drive during the week.

Bit far, and a bit too much water in the way though, sadly.

And yet...

Is a CBT needed for this, if on a full driving license (passed in 95)? It might be the start of my motorised 2-wheel life.. (potentially the end of it as well, not to be too morbid!)

Edit: Arrgh. Yes, CBT needed up to 125cc. Might need to get a move on with getting that sorted.

Riding this home would be an adventure. A bloke on something similar once stopped and asked me how to get to London (from Dewsbury) without using the motorways. Always wondered if he made it

I took a moped on the train years ago, they were fine with it as long as it had no fuel in the tank.

You’re fine if you passed in ‘95. I passed in ‘99 and I have full moped entitlement.

I’m really tempted to keep this, sack off work and ride it home!

Was just thinking the same thing

Probably best to avoid rush hour :D

I bought it for commuting - it's absolutely the perfect vehicle for short journeys on busy roads, it's no wider than a bicycle so just slips through traffic. Since I got a job within walking distance it's only been to the MoT centre so it's silly for me to keep it, I'd love to see it being used.

I didn't legally have to do a CBT (passed in 1997) but I'm really glad I did, I enjoyed the day and I learned a lot about keeping myself alive.

I asked FG to keep my full postcode off the public forum but very happy to PM it to anyone interested!

It's travelled in the back of a Discovery so I reckon it would go in a car derived van. There's a cheap van hire place near here so I wouldn't mind delivering within a sensible distance (let's say a couple of hours driving) at the buyer's cost.

If you decide not to then the £'s are awaiting....

I rode my Yamaha Vity 125cc scooter to Czech Republic (and back) a couple of years ago. Mostly on motorways as I was in a hurry. Should be OK to ride with the aid of a good map to most places.

Probably a daft question, but if you were in a hurry why did you take a 125cc scooter?

I was in a hurry on the 125cc,more than in a hurry to do the trip. Did it on a KTM RC8 in 2018. Did all the back roads rather than motorways, so average speed was pretty much the same, but much, much more fun (wouldn't be much fun on the scooter going over the Grossglockner Pass though).

Hold that thought because I've a knackered one in the shed I'm gradually putting back on the road.

A deal could be done whereby you take it on shiters loan...

Is this actually going to Ultrawomble via bub logistics?

If so there are a couple of North /South delivery requirements that could be combined to make it even more worth his while (boot floor from Donny to Ken, wheels from Ken to me)
