Sorry for letting the side  down guys...

Collected from Euston with 26% charge, was told there were chargers in the street i could use, turned out only 11kw and would take  5hrs to charge, so put enough in to get me up the M40, stopped at Cherwell valley for 40 mins and that put in about 40 miles of charge... er... right, now at Wednesbury on a 150kw charger hopefully that should give it a decent blast..

Still need to get a home charger sorted but blimey public charging is expensive (and mostly rubbish)

So the Accord lives ! I ended up buying it from Ryan the person who brought it off you, as he brought himself a BMW, so the accord lives ! When I was researching the car I found the forum so I thought I'll update the accord story too

So firstly a bit of history as to how I became a shitter...

sorry for the long story..

In the early 2000's finances comparatively were looking up a bit, I'd owned my own home for about 3 years and my Cavalier (my 3rd car) had cracked it's head. at 200k miles it was time for it to go, someone I worked with's husband was sales manager for a VW dealer so I tasked him with finding me an A4 with the amazing (at the time) Red i engine.

He found me a lovely retail silver Passat SE on a R plate, just coming up to it's first MOT, bought from said dealer for £10k at 40k miles, I drove it for the next 40k miles /2 years with services at main dealer etc, occasionally it would fail to boost, pull out to overtake, plant foot nothing... backwards and forwards to dealer no fault found, eventually sent it to a tdi engine specialist who diagnosed some massively expensive repair was required, at the same time rust was coming up over the edge of the roof rail onto the roof, VW blamed stone chips etc, paid an consulting engineer for a report confirming paint issue under the roof rail but VW wouldn't shift, ended up selling it at a 6k loss after 2 years to buy a Y reg Laguna 2 for another 10k, cue 2 years of misery, dealer incompetence and indifference, extended warranties which didn't want to know, ended up px,ing it whilst it was still in bits with a blown turbo at 80k miles for an Astra for £6.5k, from there sold Astra after a year and bought an A6 estate from auction, never bought a car from a dealer or used a dealer for service since on the basis that if i'm paying top dollar for cars expecting top dollar service i'm going to be left frustrated/ disappointed, if I haven't paid for any service i'm not going to be disappointed and this approach hasn't let me down in the past 22 years..

Until today...

Now got a company lease car (Kia), which was someone who's left hand back, when i picked it up it's said it was 130 days past it's service, so booked it in via leasing company. Dropped it off this morning with the full on main dealer service reception with yoof on the desk, bearing in mind this is all electric with 8k miles on the clock i'm not expecting much, text around 11am telling me it's all on track and they'll be in touch when complete, cue call at lunchtime telling me it's ready to collect but the leasing company (having booked it into the garage for a service, had declined authorisation to service it) spoke to lease company not had any contact with dealer but will call them, not sure how the dealer have done this but it's them who've cancelled the service, now sorted and it's now being serviced.

Turns out my expectations were correct..

Great to see it lives on!

It does indeed ! I used to work as a main dealer for Honda and as such I have great first hand experience as to how great these cars are ! The paint job I'll try and sort myself, I've ordered some new mats for it and headlight polisher to try and get em back up to spec, it will at some point have some rear tints and an upgraded Chinese apple carplay stereo with a dashcam camera combo most likely.

Would you happen to know when last service was done on it ? I'm planning on changing all fluids in the car regardless but if the oil has just been done I might wait a few months to a year and do it all then, brake fluid, coolant, fuel filter, gearbox oil, all that will be changed as I'd love to see this car surpass 200K maybe even 300K miles, hell if it turns out to be reliable I have a good friend who's offered to remap it and put it on a rolling road for me, he reckons he'll get 200 BHP and much better torque which should really transform the car.

Oh and a new thermostat ( from the scrapyard ) has been ordered to solve the sticky thermostat, I hope it's that as it doesn't seem to get fully up to temp. Had a new front tyre too pirelli part worn 5MM and date code within last 3 years for £20 🤷

As for myself personally, I'm just a 26 year old with a slight passion for older cars, never had a car on finance and I never will, and having had a brand new Honda Civic and a ZRV / CRV as a company car I think this prelude drives a million times better and is returning 58MPG so far so even better than the Jazz hybrids that are 30 grand new ! Not bad for £700 all in

Pleased the Honda has a fresh victim  owner, its not a bad old stick really. Do try the original sat nav, its odd and pretty much unusable apart from the novelty factor...

Sounds like you'll fit in well here, ive got to be honest and say I didn't service it in my time with it so it will be due.

12 pack of some nice beer and is booked in all with my dad to sort this weekend in that case, any issues with oil consumption in your ownership ? Oil seems to be disappearing somewhere 👀

All done ! All fluids including the power steering liquid has all been changed, did 3 flushes with mineral oil too and you wouldn't believe the amount of gunk that got flushed out!

Car runs happy as a nut now, anyone got any great ideas for draining the air out the coolant ? I've been topping it off after a long drive and only just now I seem to get some hot air, it seems there's some more air in the system after the recent flush.
