LightBulbFun
in other Invacar news (of which there has been a lot flying around today, iv been flat out! I bet Stuart is reading this, chuckling to himself while drinking a Dry martini or something being glad he retired from all this! all good fun tho ) I have been contacted recently by a person who has an AC Model 70 they wish to sell, and they contacted me about it, as they did not simply want to throw it on ebay and more wanted to find a good home for it rather then outright profit so I figured id post some pictures of it here and gauge interest etc figure out who is serious etc the chap wants about £1.2K for I know which is strong money here, but in the scheme of things is sadly! not so bad, given what Model 70's sadly go for these days on ebay etc! as you can see from the pictures she is TPE285S and she is from the same field of Model 70's that TWC725K and TPA621M was rescued from so that should give you a general idea of sort of shape she is in and what sort of stuff and work she will need, the engine does turn over freely by hand although has not been fired up AFAIK there is some bodywork damage, but all the bodywork is all there, theres no large chunks missing, its mostly cracks and the such like Glass is all there except for nearside window glass (although I dont know if thats not there or simply not pictured/was removed for safe keeping, I need to check, but for now assume its not there and is missing in action) so she is definitely a project rather then something you can get in and drive, but it should be a workable project! (really interesting to see a handle on the roof outside like this, iv never seen it before on another Model 70 Im guessing it was installed so a user could grab ahold of it and hoist him or herself up or something such) Six-cylinder, Mrs6C, bobdisk and 4 others

Vivaro
I still think it a great shame Stuart ever retired from the ICR, cus what he didn't know, wasn't worth knowing! Is there totally no way he could be persuaded to return to the ICR to run it properly again or even sign up here to join LBF as our resident invacar guru? You've said he talks to you a lot LBF, we need him here to talk to us too! Does anyone know actully why he packed it all in when he did, seemily at the height of his game and popularity of invacars starting to go through the roof, becuse like I've said before, he and the ICR were brilliant when it was him that was the ICR OldBlokeInACaravan

High Jetter
Blimey, it suddenly got really busy round here! 2 projects on the go - is anyone taking bets on whether @AdgeCutler or @Mrs6C will have theirs on the road first? I, for one, am looking forward to the progress reports. I hope someone from here gets the for sale one. LightBulbFun and AdgeCutler

Mrs6C
This doesn't look bad at all. I'm sure there were a couple of folk here who wanted a Model 70. Now is their chance to form an orderly queue for this fine AC machine! LightBulbFun and bobdisk

Where are they now? if your being held hostage by @Mrs6C blink twice "Nooo leave the Lancia alone, Fine ill engage him about Invacars if you want!" on a more serious note all happened back in about 2013 now, they where discovered in abandoned building in the middle of some woods somewhere in Trysull a whole bunch of Invacar Mk12's where found, along with 2 AC Acedes's a Mk14 and Mk15 and very excitingly a Stanley Mk7! (the only one known to survive) and more Mk12's! majority of them ended up with the ICR/Simon Mckeown a few where dispersed elsewhere, 1 or 2 ended up being painted gold and stuck on a plinth in Liverpool IIRC scott Milnes got a few one of which was sold fairly recently by him to someone else and the Stanley Mk7 went to Ian Hellings in the US Sadly the Majority of these machines are missing Chassis plates which is a shame as it means currently I cant ID them as I dont know where or if the Invacar Mk12 and AC Acedes have a chassis stamped chassis number the only ones that retained its chassis plates is the Stanly Mk7 and the very rare Blue and white Invacar Mk12c, so got lucky there at least Six-cylinder, AdgeCutler, Mrs6C and 2 others

AdgeCutler
Wow, Invacars galore, if I hadn't just picked up the Mk12e I'd have been very interested in the 70 but then it's a bit rich for me. I took a couple of pictures of door remnants today, perhaps they of use as reference? The frames are good for use as a pattern and the skins give a good reference also. Though without closer inspection I can't tell if there used to be a structural piece across the bottom or the skin was just "floating"? As you see, I actually have two of them and at least the tops will be usable once more? This was only a flying visit on my way to work. Yeah... you will pleased to know that we did sort her throttle cable in the end (well sorted it enough so she is no longer trying to drive off on her own) so your welcome to have another go at the next FoD gathering I really do hope TPE285S can find a good home on here and speaking of a couple things to note for any prospective buyers is, I have confirmed it does not come with any glass for the side you see missing glass in the photos' but this is all flat stuff so should be fairly easy to replicate I would hope also it is pictured wearing 12 inch wheels, but those where just put on there to roll it out of the lockup it has been living in for the past who knows how long it will be refitted with its appropriate and correct 10 inch wheels that you see lying around in some of the shots (I dont know if the tyres hold air or not so keep that in mind for transportation etc)
