Good morning. I've been on here for 3 years, and finally it's my turn to do this. Best be getting up.

Exciting times ahead....

Is it French?

It is not French. It is however a classic design, one that lasted 15 years in it's general guise.

It's as Scandinavian as ABBA eating IKEA meatballs.

As for epic collection threads, this one is epically disappointing. I'm going to the end of the path.

And due to a lack of MOT, can't really do a pez shot. However there is a pez station 100yds away so when it can it'll be done.

Hmmmmm. Is it as good as my "path end" collection thread (LS400)?

The car is well liked I'd say. As much as a LS400? Remains to be seen.

Better no be a rover 75;)

No Rover 75 here.

Just saw a Brooklands 280 Capri drive past, looking immaculate too.

I recognise that car and trailer, well done on the save!

That looks sweet as...... I do recognise it, though can't think why....

So a big thanks to Ceri for dropping it down for me, was a pleasure to meet you!

Pics to follow, it's now sat in the wrong bit of the driveway while I rush around trying to get my daily Saab fixed and MOTd ASAP.

That's properly lovely. Well done :)

You're very welcome.  A pleasure to meet you too.  Hope you get on OK with it!

So, basically as soon as I received this ace motor, it had to go straight on the back burner. My daily Saab had a couple of days MOT left, and I had a burst power steering pipe to replace rapido. Couple of tyres, bit of welding and handbrake adjustment (TADTS), and a pass was achieved. I got them to replace an ABS ring that I knew was cracked but somehow got through the MOT.

Now that's all sorted, I can finally start having a look at the 900. When I received it, Ceri let me know that it started, but did not idle no matter how much throttle you put on. I started checking hoses and stuff, and then I found it.

One of the turbo pipes was undone (the one dead centre of the image - shown fixed), meaning there wasn't enough air coming in. A quick inspection and reassembly and...

So baby steps at the moment. Part of what I want from this project is to learn how to weld, and it seems like I'll get that opportunity. The boot floor is looking particularly ropey, and the doors are all looking past it. I'll have to see what the future holds for this, hopefully I can get it back on the road. Unfortunately I'm enthusiastic but rubbish!

I will watch this and will you on. I cannot weld and would love to do so, primarily because I'm a tightwad and secondly because it will open up my horizons for ropey old shit boxes.

Good luck!
