I'll be working a half-day on the Friday, then I'll probably still be there before a lot of people.

 

I think it's about 20 miles from my house, give or take.

I say that sounds like a plan. What time are you leaving max? Bub says he isn't too far from you, so if I leave mine quite early Thursday once packed, go to Bub's, have a cup of tea and etc, I could be at yours for the early afternoon, then onwards we go.

 

Just need to find somewhere to stay, although I could sleep in the car an extra night...

I'm flexible on time, I'll have all day.

So Beko and I have something of a plan to aim for Glasgow-ish on Thursday evening, he'll be passing by Manchester and I don't have much of an agenda so we'll be heading up together I think, possibly finding somewhere to quietly camp to save money - if we have the cars is there a point to hotelling? If anyone wants to join us at any point it's all good.

Sam, from anywhere in the UK there are decent places to park up for the night within a few miles. Woodland picnic areas, pub car parks, beauty spot/view point car parks, lay-bys, church car parks, etc, etc.

Don't plan, just drive.

Update on stuff'n'things:

 

Beko and I will be staying at BavarianRetro's unit in East Kilbride on Thursday night.

 

Friday morning, we're going to go into Glasgow with David Fowler, Sloth in a Bowl and possibly Andy CMS for breakfast, get the bus (assuming all is well) , and go up to Aberdeen the direct way, aiming to get there mid-afternoon.

I'm really sorry but I did just check and that is a long way out of the way from Portsmouth. Also not sure we could get it into the 1310 as it lacks roofbars.

 

I did offer to bring it up to Inverness after Shitefest as I was supposed to be collecting Ms C's things but her contract has just been extended so I'm not heading up for a few more months.

How big/heavy is this box of books?

How available for collection are they mid morning on Thursday?

Anyone want loan of a single air bed? Had it out earlier to see if it would be any good for me on Thursday night to save emptying my car to get the double one up I will be using over the weekend, but it's less comfy than just slamming the passenger seat right down for one night. I've got a pump too, and David fowler usually has too so it can be inflated.

I might be able to but can't visit Shitefest for long, I'm helping my friend with a collection mission to Oxford on Saturday and working the next day. He lives relatively close to SF though.

I might be able to but can't visit Shitefest for long, I'm helping my friend with a collection mission to Oxford on Saturday and working the next day. He lives relatively close to SF though.

 

As you're not certain would anybody be able to be the backup plan?  If it could make it to within walking distance from Aberdeen railway station she would be able to collect it.
