Autoaid breakdown cover £33.15

These guys are mentioned quite frequently over on UKSaabs as well, and I've been with them for probably the best part of ten years now.

Friends who are with the RAC/AA are always gobsmacked when they hear the price difference.

They operate more as a dispatching agent rather than operating their own recovery fleet - so you phone them up and they then pass the job on to the nearest agent that they have in your area who has a contract with them.  That's how they keep the price down.

For all I know quite a few folks who use them, I've never heard any horror stories.

Absolutely kicked the arse out of my policy when I was a trader - some really hopeless heaps

Had the odd PITA long wait etc but then you get that with the big guys too

Okay, I'm unfamiliar with Groupon and it took me a minute to figure this out.

You're only buying a voucher through Groupon, to turn it into actual breakdown cover you have to redeem it on AutoAid's website. Do this by going to "My Groupons" (found in a dropdown menu when you click your name in the top right) then clicking "view voucher". Copy the Groupon Code and follow the AutoAid URL linked in the voucher.

When it's all completed they give you the option to print your confirmation details but I wouldn't bother, since I don't think this is very useful:

I took this out on a similar offer  few months ago, got me and my better half covered for 15 months for £48

Fuck pissing about with Groupon and a lifetime of emails from them afterwards, I'll pay the full £44 at renewal.

No age limit on cars, caravans and trailers are covered with length and weight limits.

Their t&cs are on their website.

I've used AutoAid a few times, I've been with them 10 years or so as well. Absolutely brilliant service, plus you can arrange recovery yourself and send them the bill. Just make sure you use a pukka firm with proper invoices on headed paper you can send off and not some random guy with a trailer who'll give you a hand written receipt and no contact details.

You get a cheque in the post to cover the costs within 2 weeks or so.
