For Sale 2001 Volvo S60 T5 SE auto - £995

Hallo chaps,

 

Don't really want to sell this but something has to give. Anyway...

 

2001 Volvo S60 T5 SE auto. 87k on the clock, cambelt done at Voltech Glasgow using genuine Volvo kit at 83k, 260bhp apparantly, 5 speed auto changes gear as it should, engine pulls like a train, no warning lights on, piles of service history (not complete, sadly), tyres all good, MOT is up 28/4/18. I am told that the front turrets rot out on S60s but this one is all solid.

 

Bad points... It has a couple of very shallow dings on the offside but the paint isn't broken. The electric boot release is u/s - apparantly there is an actuator that fails - and the aircon pump is noisy and not entirely effective. There is a tiny smidgen of rust breaking through on the bootlid but it's not come to anything yet.

 

Otherwise all the kit works including the car phone, though a sim adapter is required if you don't have a big sim card.

 

I'm loathe to move it on but it's just not getting used (until today it hadn't turned a wheel since October) and it's a bloody waste to have it sitting about.

 

I have asked on a couple of Volvo owners pages on facebook about value and was rather helpfully told anything between 400 quid and two and a half bags which seems mental to me so I'm advertising here first.

That's really nice. If I could insure it I'd offer my 740 as a swap, but I'd need to shell out about £250 and I'm paying enough as it is.

T5 auto with sensible wheels, I don't think there are many better ways to get about for a grand. Alas I already have 3 Volvos, including one dog knob red saloon, so it's not for me. Good luck with the sale!

Sadly I have six Volvos just now and I'm aiming to half that to three so something has to give and ultimately this I reckon is the most likely to go; the other two are going to be spares recovery before scrap.

Door mirrors are also a wee bit scuffed it appears. There's a weird bubbling on the weather strips which seems to be benign.

 

Also for the purposes of clarity the first picture is of the corrosion on the bootlid.
