A journey back in time on an outing today!

Took a detour off the M18 at number 6, saw these delightful relics of the past!

First up: A wooden road bridge! Is this the last one in Britain? I've never seen another!

And this barn owl was hunting in broad daylight- has hunger caused by all the rodents going to ground during the recent snow forced it to come out before dusk?

There is a wooden toll bridge in North Wales, by Towyn I think it is

No it was 78p a litre back in about 2004 IIRC.

Indeed, but I was allowing 10p a litre countryside premium in my estimations!

Wow. Unusual name I suppose.

I remember filling with 56 - 59 p/ litre in about 2002-2003, in Glasgow.

My first petrol price memory is it jumping from 36p to 54p over one school summer holiday.

....

..

.

Per gallon.

The next year it went to 72p.

I'm guessing '73/74.

I remember ration books being issued about that time too.

You mean for bread and coal? I think the NUM were busy getting shut of Ted Heath at the time?

Penmaenpool. Shortcut to Barmouth without going all the way via Dolgellau.

No, they were just petrol rationing books.

Evidence that the Tories of the day had major fear but they weren't used, unlike in '56 during their Suez fuck-up.

Some people sure have bigger balls than me.

Driving a '60 Imperial from Beirut smack through the middle of the Yugoslavian Civil War?

Not a problem.

But Lincolnshire?

No.

Fucking.

Way.

I'm scared shitless just looking at the pics.

Indeed there is - I went over it a couple of weeks back. Between Dolgellau and Barmouth.
