I love that reg!

How come?

I've had it for 15 years and as I don't have a middle name and owned a car with a fruity SR20 at the time, it stands for 'Liam Nissan Power' :/

Or, more accurately these days 'No Probs'. As I always seem to say this or type 'NP'. :-)

That looks fantastic!! Agreed the estate is the best looker but don't see as many for sale.

titanium X with the sport kit is perfect, though I'm really after a workhorse so don't want to ruin anything fancy.

I'll see how Faker gets on with his first

Mondeo has landed....

Nice big comfy motor...

Still prefer the Octavia though... it almost behaves like a hot hatch!

Had a strange fault with mine today,

The wipers decided to stop working, but not entirely.

intermittent and 1st speed disappeared, but the mist function and 2nd speed were working fine.

of course it was raining, but on returning home they started working again!

Think I may have a faulty relay, will investigate another day.

They went wild on my old hatch once - staying active with ignition off and car locked - and as you say, the relay was to blame.

All I had to do was take it out and refit it, and it never happened again.

Hopefully the same is true for you.

I stumbled upon this Russian shiter on You Tube for his Rover 75 videos however I thought one of his recent purchases might fit in here:

Obviously it's in Russian however the gist is very clear.

Sadly not,further investigation required.

Yup it's the 2.0 tdci. Still think the bkd 2.0 derv Octavia drives like a hot hatch compared to the Mondeo...

Here's one for the Mondeo massive on here...

Not that I'm a hoodlum or anything, but I'd describe my driving style as enthusiastic.... I have brand name tyres on the cars I drive... always...

The Mondeo has quality ditch finders all round, something I'll need to address in the immediate future...

I fully expected the big girl to understeer badly, which transpires isn't the case... the rear of the Mondeo is seriously sketchy. Now... there's receipts for new rear bushings, and the rear is very planted, no twitching or jiggling over bumps which I've experienced with our old company Mondeo in work... More a case of grip... grip... grip... then totally sideways on a wet roundabout! It really did let go! Certainly not confidence inspiring. Set of brand name tyres hopefully sorts that shit out!!

I certainly expected better...

Not a Mondeo but I had a Xantia 1.9D with Westlake tyres at the back, a normally neutral handling car turned into a skittish lift off oversteering mess.

A set of part worn Goodyears and it was back to how it should be.

If you've always had decent (branded) rubber welcome to the strange world of the no name ditch finder.

Mrs Roomster with Toyos - flickable roundabout surfer. Mine with whoflungdung specials - grip grip grip OMG SUDDEN MASSIVE UNDERSTEER

Worse than that, having had a few sets of terrible tyres in my time is how inconsistent they can be too. So you never really get used to how they handle, as sometimes they let go progressively, sometimes it's new underwear at low speed.

As a proof of concept, try some not very committed handbrake turns. If they are that bad the back will flick round with little persuasion

Bizarre as it sounds male sure the tyres are following the right direction. I had a Mondeo that oversteered on roundabouts due to a directional tyre that had been fitted the wrong way on the back.

Westlake! I love dodgy tyre names.

Change the tyres and have the alignment checked IMO.

But the smart money is on the Chinese death rings!

Caught up with my Somerset based pal and his fully loaded TXS estate over Xmas.

Took a couple of crap pics as the cars are never together.

We drove each others as you do. He showed me his boost leak, I showed him my creaking drivers seat and Convers Mods.

All good.

Wonder which car can carry the most tins of tuna legally.

I’ve been known to unbolt all but the drivers seat in cars, to fit in the required cargo.

So I feel confident.

Strange challenge though. Has ‘Wilson Wilson’ changed his name again? :-)

I've had some horror experiences in the past...

I bought a stunning vectra gsi years ago (yes I like them a lot) and it was fitted with a mish mash of Taiwanese dung tyres. They were all relatively fresh, but utterly useless. I had a few close calls (dicking about as you do) and couldn't wait to change the tyres. I'd also a beauty of a Clio 172 a few years ago. 16" tyres on it. Local tyre guy swore blind that scudo stunner (Italian budget tyre) were made under license by Pirelli (which they are), and said they were excellent. Fuk me!!!! Ruined a superbly handling car! I swapped them for Michelin pilot thingies.... unbelievable tyres! Scudo stunner shite flogged on bumtree!

I thought westlake was a chinese beef soup?

I have never seen so many premium cars running on meloveyoulongtime death rings. It speaks volumes about the owner.

I found Landsail tyres made my 57 plate 2.0 diesel a trifle arse clenching in the wet.
