Why dafuq not?

Surely at that point you're insured and driving it to a pre-booked MOT...

Do what? Registration? Oh, yes. That minor detail.

See those cranes?

post-20743-0-54338400-1521122696_thumb.jpg

One of those is what took your car off the boat. Don't know if that's still the same boat you can see under the cranes. That's a big one. Maybe yours was near the top.

You're still tracking the boat then, even though your car's not on it any more? Gets addictive doesn't it. It hadn't occurred to me that the containers weren't all UK bound but I guess the rest of Europe want their fair share of Shite too.

Nice one Jo, I bet you can’t wait for it to come home!?

Glad you’ve done it now though?

It’s not that bad really is it in the end. It’s just getting over the fact your buying blind and paying blind. I’d gladly do it again anyway!

I like a vinyl roof on a 70s car, personally... but I reckon it says PLAH rather than bASe, so I guess it's down to personal preference.

Slot mags look ace no matter what, though!

Hell yes to a vinyl roof, can you get it in blue to match the interior?

Posted

The most difficult question is what colour to have the vinyl; a blue matching the velour, 'you forgot the topcoat' grey, lairy white or plain old black?

Posted

Other questions are half or full? Padded or not? And what side window style do you have?post-17414-0-96687000-1521206421_thumb.jpegpost-17414-0-95042000-1521206437_thumb.jpegpost-17414-0-13803800-1521206452_thumb.jpegpost-17414-0-99451900-1521206467_thumb.jpegpost-17414-0-58049600-1521206481_thumb.jpeg

Personally I think you should paint it Highland Green, paint the centres of the rostyles black , get some JJZ 109 showplates. Then go to a Mustang owners club event , content that your car is just as faithful replica as all those other fuckers,( and there will be at least a dozen, none of them actual 68s let alone 390 GTs)

Great news Jo.

Personally, I love vinyl roofs, especially on 70’s yanks. It just looks ‘right’ and of the period for them.

Only down side is that our country is generally a wet shit hole for 50% of the year so bear in mind the corrosion issues it might possibly cause longer term.

My Capri had acquired one (non original) and it had caused some deep rusting to the rear quarters where water had gotten in and sat behind the vinyl rusting the panel. They were very obvious after stripping the car down and it meant the rear quarter panels were best being replaced... worth bearing in mind!

They are seriously cool on cars like this though.

Going further I’d be tempted to go triple blue!

Blue paint, ideally metallic.

Blue full vinyl roof .

Blue interior.

It’d look lovely!

What!?! No PAS!? Proper base spec!

Not long left until you get it now. Hopefully all this sodding snow won’t mess things up.

Posted

I’m sure it’ll be fine...

Funnily I thought exactly that same thing when mine got stuck at New York docks because of no Title! It was sat up in NY through winter, and it was very cold and snowy that year.

Turned out to be fine though.
