Shite Withdrawal Illness

I've been shite-less for 3 months since the arrival of the E61. The whole idea was to reduce outgoings, pay a few debts and have a reliable car to do everything. The E61 does everything I need it to, so I've no use for another vehicle. The Tiger (bus) is off the road for winter, as is the Triumph Sprint.

But I'm bored. I want the thrill of a collection, the excitement* of finding out the extra faults that the seller forgot to mention, and generally discovering a new vehicle. I do have a van policy that is about half way through, as I forgot to cancel it when the Expert FTP'd. I don't need a van, and I don't really want to spend money I could put to other uses, but still....

Alternatively, a WBOD motorbike sounds good, and ZZ-R 600's are available for minimal amounts of coin.

Blah.

Do what I do and pore hopelessly through Bumtree, etwat and Facefart drooling over lost causes, spending loads of time umming and aahing (i.e. researching*) and then when I decide to buy buy buy, the car of my dreams* has already been sold.

It's like window shopping, and uses up many many hours. And saves you wedge.

Thing is, thats what I've been doing. I nearly bought a ZZ-R but the seller and I couldn't agree on a price. I know sooner or later i'll give in...

You could do a lot worse than look in this forum!

There have been several on here recently that I really wanted, just I have run out of money and storage.

Not much in the way of vans and bikes though, I'm trying to avoid a car as its the most useless option. That said, I nearly bought @jollyfkr2's Skoda but circumstances conspired against me. The Blandit currently for sale is too far away, and @Jazoli's Hayabusa is out of my price range.

Yes, yes, I know. Moon on a stick etc.

I miss £50 cars or "take it away and it's yours" deals.

All you needed was some beer money and a parking space.

Enter 5 roffles and see what happens! Think of it as a lucky* dip! No shortage of quality shite on here atm, although we are a roffle down as I killed one yesterday

But those deals are still out there.

I just bought this:-

How do you manage to dig up such great bargains ?

At the moment the only shitbucket in my crosshairs is a ShittyRover (top spec, mind) for £250.

By looking. My son needed help, & is usually pot less. .

I went to the car club forums own websites ( Fiat Forum in this case) where I found it at the bottom of the classified section. Plenty of literates in other specialist forums - but he wanted a Fiat, if poss.

Bunch of questions back/ forth, a lot more pics and a deal done.

They are still out there- just don't look in the ' normal' places.

With scrap around £50-75, ( that's about the perceived value on the Marea) it's not that difficult right now

Make a cash offer for one of the Roffle cars?  I know at least two are also available on that basis.  OK, neither is a van, but the 106 is at least a diesel hatchback, so it's going to feel like one!

I'm finding it hard to find a new cheap wbod . Nothing interesting seems to be in Cornwall and loads of traveling for a 300 quid car just doesn't make sense to me . All I can find are clios and 307s yuck

Same for me, nowt in Devon or Cornwall. The 106 would make sense if it wasn't bloody miles away, which is what all the interesting chod seems to be.

The C15 van that's appeared today?  It seems to be in Sheffield though, which might be an issue.

Lovely though the C15 is, the distance is just too far - I simply don't have the time to go and fetch it.

Discussing a motorbicycle in Totnes with someone on eBay.

Is E61 a skin cream or obscure food additive?

Neither. A German Immigrant.

I know the feeling. I'm going crazy right about now looking at cars and wanting. Its a bad habit that I only just have enough self control on.

I may heading up to brum direction if a lift would help

I appreciate the offer fella but unfortunately it's not a lack of funds that is the issue (for once). It's more the lack of the one thing I am permenantly short of - time.
