I've wondered for a long while what happened to that.   Hope you can get it useful again soon man.

Sounds like it'd be easier to drive the Green Goddess back but glad you're having fun 😎

Is this the current record holder for 'last car to leave a shitefest'? 🤔 How many years ago did the tarp disintegrate?

The tarp lasted about a year, the body hasn’t suffered much and there seems to be no or very little welding needed at all. It looks a but faded and worn but a exploratory polish with Mr Fowlers mop (not a euphemism), the majority of the original paint might even come back.

Sadly a tree was sacrificed in the removal of this automobile from its resting place.

Same on both counts.  I was only thinking about it the other day which is weird.  Good luck with it!

Is that SF25 sorted already?

Instead of trying to get the green goddess running, we try getting the slightly smaller green thing going.

I'd be able to just re-use my line on the bonnet for the milage 😂 The Xsara is nicer to sleep in than that gooner was too.

I scrolled back many pages last night reminiscing, what a fucking a+quality weekend that was. Do wish I'd fixed and kept that gooner but it wasn't worth it 😢

There’s a Citroen Saxo in the field of dreams which I think is a 1.5 diesel. I think @Talbot owns it, although it’s been there a while so @Six-cylinder may have taken possession of the grounds of eminent domain or something.

It was to have donated its running gear to some sort of lawn-moving machine, which sounded absolutely lethal whenever the plans were discussed.

Appropriate typo there!

There was grass but it's now been vaporised!

There is, and I have plans to scrap most of it in a few weeks.

@Inspector MoroseIf you would like the entire front end to convert your wartburg to Diesel, then you are welcome to it.  I would even consider A-framing the bastard up there in order to get it shifted.

Say now.  I think it's a genious* plan.

(also, the Saxo/106 has a high-mounted steering rack, so you may well find that everything fits nicely)

I can always just build the worlds biggest and most lethal bug-zapper? I have a couple microwave oven transformers and a fair selection of big-fuck-off ultraviolet emitting, insect attracting lightbulbs :) (who's radiant heat would probably kill most trying to get near anyhow LOL)

Totally forgot about that Saxo!

Yes, that’s just what I’m after. A TUD would suit the characteristics of the Warty just right. Not too much power, lighter than a n XUD so wont be too nose heavy and I’d need most of the front to make it all work together nicely.

Getting it up there would be an issue for me….hmm, we shall talk Saturday at Oulton.

Alternatively, if the driveshafts are removed from your warty, could it be A-framed back down to where it could be sensibly worked on?  Would it need the outer wheel-bearings held together by some other means?

Definitely discuss on Saturday.

I think the front hubs are the same as Skoda 130 so I think they're self contained.

I may be moving north soon so keeping it up there would be preferable but saying that, you would be very useful in getting it all to fit and work!
