I appreciate it’s probably not that earlier for some of you but be assured that by my usual Saturday standards, it is.

Oh well, the early bird etc etc

Which sees us moving swiftly into phase 2, a more orthodox shite collection transportation method. One of Northerns finest class 158s.

We are now almost live.

I’m just thankful it wasn’t one of those rattly buggers based on a Leyland National. Don’t get me wrong, I love the bus version but the trains wear a bit thin after the first 15 minutes or so.

Ohh exciting....

So far you are missing

A) pictures of breakfasts

B) hints

Posted

Oops.

Breakfast was procured whilst on phase 1 courtesy of Mr R. McDonald esq. and his drive-thru.

The hint however...it’s there.

The Hint... I have a good feeling about this...

Oh. Spoke too soon.

Actually, I take back what I said. Ok, it’s a bit bouncy but at least there’s plenty of room...

That was unexpected.

As the train pulled into a station, they just opened all the doors and switched off the engine for a minutes silence.

Well done, Northern.

Railshite endured, and it was all worth it...

Lovely to meet you, Paul (and Mrs Paul), thanks for the brews and enjoy yourselves in your new home at the other side of the world.

Currently dining at Meadowhall. Fuel station shot and updates to follow.

Oooh you picked up my car for me. Thanks.

Hasn’t this got too many cylinders for you, Alex? ;-)

Back home now. That was fun.

Ok, there’s a few minor niggles...one of the engine mounts has seen better days as there’s a bit of a clunk if you take up drive too quick and the front splitter caught a couple of the larger speed bumps but other than that, it’s a very straight old thing.

No filling station shot, I’m afraid as it was still showing 70odd miles range when we got back and it’s dark now so you’ll all have to wait until I get it down to the yard for a wash and brush up but it may well be a bit of a keeper WBOD.
