Scrapyard visiting

About 10 years ago I had to take an axle to an army base in Yorkshire, it was right the other side of the base, I was utterly astounded how much gear they had, all kinds of military vehicle from tanks to personnel carriers but dozens of each all lined up , some in desert camo but most in green, I just stood starting at it thinking, this is one base in one county and there's 100s of millions of £££ here

Imagine the world we could have if this budget could be spent elsewhere worldwide , no famine , much less tax so we could all have a better life but it'll never happen because politics

To be fair the military is basically like Autoshite except with a whole country where they can store stuff.

I've yet to venture there yet since returning behind the wheel, but Looms get plenty of praise around my way:

Hivis for a £1 and help yerself mate, I believe

We operate a ‘low tech’ approach to parts sales.  In most cases, we do not remove parts from vehicles, but if you need help we will if we can. Once the vehicles are decontaminated by our staff we allow customers to come in, have a look round & remove the parts they need.  We do not provide tools.  You must bring your own tools with you.  And you must be ‘competent’ to do so, as we take Health & Safety very seriously.

clayts, it has been known for the Autoshite Midlands Massive to hold one of their world-renowned* meetings at Looms, where we buy very little bit pick over every car in there.

In fact I do believe we're quote overdue such an event.

I spent a lot of time on a Navy base recently and there was loads of chod lying around; Leyland aircraft re-fuelling tankers, old forklift trucks and even still a Green Goddess tucked away.
