HMC Posted September 27, 2018 Author Posted September 27, 2018 Price drop to 250 and below that I’ll hang onto it I think!
bramz7 Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 i would, but I have hit my fleet maximum of 3 when all the comings and goings have happened. For others interested, FJ just quoted me a reasonable amount on a classic policy for it.
Supernaut Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 Good god! £250 for that! If only I wasn't at the opposite end of the British mainland and currently between jobs.
clayts450 Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 FFS, two of the cars on my bucket list in one day from the same seller for pocket money (Micra and this) and I want them both, but can have neither due to fleet max limit. Swap for a PT Cruiser with a week's MoT ? Thought not.

HMC Posted September 30, 2018 Author Posted September 30, 2018 The Vantman-Holbeck 900 comes with a huge about of history. One chap bought it new and held onto it for at least 20 yrs. He kept all paperwork. Have a look at the 1990/91 sales invoice..... About 32k today. The air con option would now cost (a cool) £2k Lacquer Peel, Angrydicky, Vantman and 2 others 5
HMC Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 Bramz7 paid a visit today to drop off this Latin beauty.... Pimptastic in black/red leather, it’s nice to own an Alfa again. I came close to owning the 156 breadvan v6 but finally I’ve got one! Current plans are to listen to the engine note and perhaps think about a belt change. Supernaut, michael t, oldcars and 17 others 20
bramz7 Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 In case anyone is wondering, the heart shaped tile with the name Chris on it came with the car when I bought it, along with a ton of rizlas and a lighter... HMC, Lacquer Peel and RobT 3
HMC Posted October 12, 2018 Author Posted October 12, 2018 What with a cambelt change being a high priority, I got distracted by the threadbare steering wheel and gear knob. Unimportant, but then again as the most tactile connection to the car, the old one was not exactly La dolce vita. That’s better. Where were we? Oh yeah that cambelt change.... RobT, Lacquer Peel, Dirk Diggler and 5 others 8
Six-cylinder Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I just love that red interior especially with the black.
HMC Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 Anyone fancy a swap- What have you for the ex vantman Holbeck Saab 900? I’ll put up some more pics but searching their old threads should bring it up. It’s a less common Finnish built example, some say they are constructed to a higher standard. It’s certainly in great condition apart from faded paint and a scuffed wheel arch. Mot to December, thoroughly waxoyled and with a new set of Michelin cross climate all season tyres fitted. Having crawled around rustproofing it I can report the driveshaft tunnels, jacking points etc are all sound. There is bubbling on that lower inner door skin bit (TADDS) Professionally replaced headlining, no sunroof (big bonus IMO) interior excellent but for a cracked dash top (tadds) It’s a 2.0 16v automatic and has full history from new (1 guy had bought it from Viking Saab, had it 15 years and everything from the vehicle order onwards is here), 63k miles (very low for one of these) Pm me Coprolalia and somewhatfoolish 2
HMC Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 Factory fit air con, (converted to r134a) works ish, keep fit windows, period 90s Sony radio cassette/electric aerial combo. More pics later. somewhatfoolish, Angrydicky, Bobthebeard and 1 other 4
