Gutted I didn't take a pic of the engine and box in the SEAT for the SEAT.

All went well until I forgot, was toeing it a bit to get to work and needed to slam on by the M5 roundabout from the A40. I honestly thought someone had rear ended me it settled so hard.

Ooopssss.

No lasting damage though and the box got fitted last week bought untested from gumtree yet fair play, it runs like a dream.

Somewhere I have a photo of the ex-Bo11ox Rover 220SLi the weekend after I collected it at its lowest point, cracked windscreen and incontinent waterpump included plus not much handbrake to speak of. It was tasked with towing a trailer load of kayaks and a boot full of equipment a few miles up the road where I collected 4 burly passengers, more kit and a couple more boats before climbing a massive hill and then eventually taking the whole lot off road to our destination.

Didn't complain at all. Marvellous car.

Van being a van. Loaded up with 300 litres of vegetable oil, a door for my neighbour's Renault Modus, and headlights for my girlfriend's wrong hand drive Clio.

I've had a new boxed Dyson DC04 on the back on this Kawasaki, a 14" CRT telly and a double futon mattress from Ikea Wembley to Clapham. Here's my Lada loaded to the brim for one of our family trips up to Center Parcs...

Yes, we did get some very, very baffled looks from other motorists on the way up the M1.

Between the carb acting up on the way there (which then miraculously fixed itself when we got there) and a headwind on the way back, maximum available speed was somewhere between 40 and 50mph, and fuel economy over the whole trip was somewhere around 15mpg.

...Next time we did it was shortly after the fuel injection conversion was done.  Quite happy to sit at an indicated 75mph, and returned 36mpg, even with full cargo and a C5 strapped to the roof.
