One assumes that 320T isn't posting this from a puddle of gearbox oil next to the M74, and the beast made it home by some means or other?

Sorry, emergency plumbing got in the way..

After a fine repast, we drove the long* and arduous trail to Cannock

And I Woollarded like a pro!

The auctions were a disappointment - with but a Marea Weekend to turn my head. It rapidly snapped back when I realised it was hamstrung with a 1.9jtd rather than the sonorous 2.4

What did the Prius go for?

Fuck knows, we got the hell outta Dodge!

She took £50 sheets to fill

And the gutty was applied in full measure.

Heavy traffic from j14-19 on m6 took ages. Other than that it drove lovely, and you can drive round the issue. Sat at 70 with occasional foray to 71*

GLF m9 and is hingin inside

Old charter and tradition was achieved

And things were seen to be going well

Why do I get a feeling of foreboding about the next post?

SERV light on doesn't spark much confidence that the next post will be positive either! At least the squiggly box light isn't lit though.

And no seatbelt on either, tut tut!

Knowing neil and his laptop though it'll be up at medium GLF as we speak and making progress whatever happens...

Despite the dyson one's feelings of foreboding,

All that happened on the next leg was it threw an eml.

TADTS!

it ran up the road no bother, and I found new rear discs and pads in the boot. Along with the lack of any rear seats/trim

Excellent! Give the knock sensor a big knock with a hammer, bound to fix it!

Eurocarparts now make discs with bearings for the rear of these now eh? Interesting

I have a dead Clio that it looks like I am going to break. Let me know what bits you want.

Cheers

Did you have a stab at the Sharan, chief? Despite the 'cat' marker against, an automatic diesel one of those must be worth daft money.

We left before the auction started. And the front tyres were doing a great telly savalas impersonation

There was an oddly high number of 'insurance total loss' markers, even by Cannock's standards*.

I think I might swing by on Tuesday to see if the quality* has improved!

Funnily enough I was looking at flights down...

Those discs are old stock and will be made of chocolate - green box Eicher brakes are the reason people complain about them

Newer red box stuff is made in the UK and actually pretty good (maybe not great for anything with a hint of performance mind)

Do let me know if you need collecting from Elmdon aerodrome...  :)

They'd not be getting fitted anyway as Cannae be arsed trying to fit the bearings in:)

He's only planning on hitting Brum for another go on the world's flattest cliff railway.

A big thanks to Mistah Dome for coming over tonight so we could diagnose this thing. Here's what we found:

To us (2shiters plus tame gearbox rebuilder mate) and the chaps at Martindale garage, this reads like a planet gear that has thrown a tooth.

Going to fit a good secondhand box? Or rebuild?

Options being explored at the moment..

Hoping beer shall provide inspirations at the weekend

I for one demand a nice meaty fugutty cars blog post where you change just the part that it needs...

I think gearbox rebuilds are outside of my scope..
