At the end of the day the mods are fucked if they do, fucked if they don't.

 

If you don't ban the "offensive" material you are failing to uphold the rules, if you do try to implement a control of any kind you are a power mad buzz killing political correctness gone mad nanny state. 

 

I do not expect the cars & girls thread to be removed just because myself and a few others don't like it, for me the best scenario is for the people posting in the thread to decide to keep it tasteful and stop posting explicit images. 

 

This may need a gentle nudge post in the thread as not everyone will be reading this. 

 

I would agree with the rules someone else suggested up there, no genitals, nipples, or arseholes (in every sense of the word) and picture must contain a car.

If something porno is posted isn't it enough to give a gentle reminder to the offender, rather than a ban or even taking down an otherwise sensible thread?

I assume showing the terms and conditions had little to do with lady parts but more to do with a disgruntled person who may have been banned. He or she may or may not be in the legal profession and may be trying to cause trouble in a litigation way so the mods are just covering their arses both in a metaphorical and hopefully literal way if they are in the cars and men thread......

I think those T&Cs have been around for a while. Also its questionable how much legal basis they actually have - especially if they haven't been checked and "underwritten" by a lawyer.

A tame lawyer is only useful if they are inside the tent pissing out. Once they decide to start pissing IN the tent, it's probably best to ask them to step outside the tent and piss somewhere else. It's not always possible to predict where they're going to decide to piss, but you can decide whether they get to stay in the tent.
