From my wanders around Chester last week. Much as I love air cooled VWs, I reckon the MK2 Golf must be one of the best cars they made, a looked after one should go on almost forever

I had no idea Chester was in Australia. Why does that happen?

Because the camera was upside down when the picture was taken. Just need to edit orientation before uploading.IMG_2323.jpeg.acef599d422ea14cfd47233e186b73c7.jpeg

Little trundle out to Brightlingsea today. Guy had the yellow Lupo and the three commercials were in his road. The rest were en-route including an early boot sale visit

What is the cream coupe?  Wheels suggest Fiat but I don't recognise the model.

It was indeed a Fiat. I didn't recognise it either when I spotted it hiding in the petrol station

More new bits at the classic dealer. Silver Shaddow is peak British car to my mind

That's a Silver Shadow flared wheel arch model. Built from around 1974 onwards. The arches have a slight flare and the car lost the grille below the headlamps that are found on the earlier cars.

They good fun to drive if you want to waft about in total luxury and do not have to worry about the price of fuel.

My late father had a Velvet Green Shadow in the 1990s.

Look at the two and eight of this ice cream van, it's twice as tall as it is wide!

Pooling along at 50 in the middle lane oblivious to everyone else too...

Cortina with BackFlash was going a bit quicker

I really fancy another. 90 spec with the ultraviolet interior would be perfect. I'm a bit gutted how prices have gone mad since selling my VR6 converted mk2 back in 2015.

Subaru Sambar (?) I think, an unlikely candidate, must be as scary as those Mini and Bedford HA based ones from the 60s and 70s.

Our local firm has a similar one, based on a Bedford Rascal,

don't think he takes it far though (wisely), only to local events.

Check that out for a fleet too! I think a couple of the earlier MK3s have gone but the smileys are still doing the rounds. The chimes aren't really needed as you know when they're near!🤣

Suzuki Carry I believe - rear dashcam chose a great day to fail and not capture the front of it

EDIT Daihatsu!

Yup, it's a Hijet. Bumper, plate surround and lights, checks out. Maybe not the best life choice...
