Help a brother (literally) - anyone close to Whitby?

Hello, is there any shiter who is close to the Goth Capital, Whitby and isn't afraid of central European vampires and emotional purple people?

Odd mission:  I need someone to go and see if my brother's campervan is still on the street.  it may have been dragged off by the DVLA.  He cannot get access to his V5 to tax the van at present, because of circumstances the nature of which I need not relate.   It is a 15K campervan, not a junker, and so the issue is a tad pressing.

Anyone who undertakes this crazy gig will be compensated with a framed copy of the complete posts of Autoshite's most popular spammerbots.   Or some cool sounding but faintly disappointing crafty beer, in a box.   Or a free broken Saab, or something.

Don't get trampled in the stampede.

PS:  I would of course go and get the van and bring it to the civilised regions, but I do not wish to travel to Whitby, which is I believe somewhere to the north of Outer Space, unless there is in fact a van there for me to collect.

I expect to have a ride up to Mid'bro' on Sat pm, I could maybe trek the extra bit over, but it adds two hours to my trip.

I can't think of anyone any closer, but let's see if someone pipes up...

I'm also in Middlesbrough. I could have a trip up Saturday if no one else available before then.

If Spike can't do it then let me know, I'm working in scarborough tomorrow so have to bypass Whitby on the way.

I'm happy to go tonight as long as I don't get the nod too late, I'm busy Thursday and Friday evenings though.

Robin hoods bay? Best place in the world bar none.

My mums going up there tomorrow, I'm sure she'd be happy to have a look for the van.

Where's it parked? There's quite a few webcams, and the staff in all the shops and pubs are sound enough, you could ring one of them.

My original plan was to have a gentle waft along the coast in the old Merc S class but I took the slightly battered BMW Z3 2.8 instead, much less of a waft. It's a crap town car with it's notchy gearbox and poor visibility but the free revviing engine comes into own overtaking on the moors. Is that a bit too PH? Good to help someone and let that stretch its legs at the same time.

Only if you dialled in just a dab of oppo for some sideways action, then did many leptons on 'a private road'.

No, I'm far too much of a shithouse for anything like that!

Is it still there then?

It is! Looking a bit flat battery/sticky handbrake ish with a greeny brown shadow on the road underneath it but nowt a bit of tlc shouldn't cure.

If you're going to FTP, a campervan is the probably the vehicle of choice.

4 hours from your gaff in one of my cars, a good bit longer in one of yours!
