Then more fettling over the weekend.

So, if anyone fancies free tea and bacon sarnies...  :)

Alas, we're hurtling East for a birthday with other 2CV friends. Well, that's the plan. I've a horrible feeling I'm coming down with a cold...

Strangely enough.

Which day works better for you, podner?

Having experienced 'deferred success' last night in an online bid to organise insurance, I have just spent A WHOLE HOUR on the dog going through the same information with three different people.

FUXAKE.

I am no longer a CCC member, but happy to do this for you, Richard.  Perhaps I can cadge a copy of the relevant edition off Mr Chapman...  :D

I'm pleased I didn't manage to obtain a battery for the Dyane yesterday:

1) a new branch of ECP ("any part for any car, just not the one you expected...") has opened near me;

2) I took full advantage of the WEEKEND55 online discount code!

Box of electricity (the right one!) collected from ECP.  Original air filter & box to be rescued from MiL's gaff.

Getting there  :)

Today the ever wonderful Mrs FPB7 told me that we're going out then promptly disappeared down the allotment. I know if I was foolish to assume that the plans had changed and came round today, my life would become a living hell on earth.

Domestic Management is always right; if the opposite appears to be the case, you are mistaken.

See you tomorrow  :D

I may have been flippant purely based on the bacon suggestion.

I'm not sure you want me to help spannering anyway. It's like asking Gok Wan to give you a hand plastering your living room.

OK, this is it.

I have a new battery, five litres of super-unleaded to perk up what remains in the tank, and a starting-handle to turn the engine first to get the oil and fuel to where it needs to be.

Only then will I turn that key.

Wish me luck, I know you're all counting on me...

Big thanks to Hairnet.  He even brought croissants and posh bacon.

Fuelling problems held us up, but my friend Laurence (2CV racer and builder of the car's engine) came over and applied appropriate expertise.

HAPPY  :D
