There's one of those sat on our drive RIGHT NOW. Superb for hauling chopped up trees, apparently very uncomfortable and bouncy when empty and what it lacks in top speed it makes up for in torque.  Mazda Brawny, I'm told.

Seen today, what a little cracker this old shagbag proved to be on closer examination. Rust and moss is taking hold nicely and the owner hasn't gone overboard with too many non matching wheeltrims. 15 tax disc just tops it all off.

Parked in St Ives this afternoon, what a lovely pair. Just look at the paint and fillery-goodness. Midget hood was new and baggy as hell. This is exactly how they would have looked in the late '60s.

Doing 90 in the outside lane of the M4 between junction 15/14 heading towards LANNNNNNDANNNN TANNNN.

 

Never dropped below 75/80 apart from traffic.

 

Touch frilly on the front wings too, looked original, super cool oldish dude driving alone, coolest man on the M4 that day.

my ex employer still has a 99 Scania 94D 220 on his fleet - My old wagon X2BSS has 700+k on there (2nd tacho) and still going well..

also 2 old (pre 2001) merc sprinter pickups....

This old J2 belongs to a local bed firm and they use it for their deliveries.

 

 

 

Someone once told me that this very J2 was one of the ones used in the Charlie and the Chocolate movie but I have no proof of that

Another one from the area in which I grew up.

 

Renault traffic belonging to a one man band double glazing firm.

 

I remember as a kid in the 90's and this Van appeared one day brand new. It always stood out because of the poo brown colour.

 

I returned to the area recently 20 years on and the Van is still there outside the same house in great shape and still in use by the same firm.

 

I don't have a photo so I used google maps and surprise surprise, there it was

 

 

Look after a van and there is no need to upgrade or renew I suppose

A bunch were rounded up (one from New Zealand I think) some petrol some with 220 diesel, and all re bodied for the film. They seem to have kicked about in a yard for a while but it's good that this ones still in service.

Somewhere round here is a 1988/9 Transit 'Bonus' SWB van (petrol I think) that seems to be used a lot and still looks really tidy for an ancient Transit. Farmers used to be good for keeping some right old knackers on the road, but sadly most of them seem to have quite new-ish stuff these days.
