Hourly insurance- anyone tried it?

Apparently you just pap the reggy number in and you can get insurance by the hour.. could be ideal for getting those heaps home.

 

I'd be interested to know if it comes up with some cheap prices for anyone...

I downloaded the app to see how much it would be, it asks for loads of shite like driving licence pictures etc before it will even give you a price. 

 

I think it's about £10/hour so really not good value.

I normally do a couple of days temp insurance to pick a car up. A day to get there and bring it back and a day to have a run round. Usually about 40-60 quid.

I got a quote the last time we did a pick up, a day was £22 with my usual company, the 'super cheap by the hour place' wanted £12/hr. Guess which I went for?

I haven't done it for a while because I haven't needed to, but I used to add them as temporary additional vehicles to my modern policy. Used to work out about £30 a MONTH, you could do it by the day or week too if required, but obviously the cost per day worked out more. They didn't charge an admin fee either, surprisingly.

 

Only limitation is you could only do it for a total of 90 days in any insurance period
