My first ever french car, a Citroen XM

So with the imminent arrival of my new Iveco motorhome and plans to live and travel in it for the next few years I decided it would be a good time to move a few of the fleet on. So why I thought it would be a good idea to buy a Citroen XM 2.1 diesel auto estate and a Volvo V70 Estate is beyond me. . Neither have an MOT but I'm putting them both through next month. The Citroen has been off the road for over a year but isn't too bad. It needs a bit of TLC but has had all of the spheres replaced 2 years ago. I'm still not quite sure what I'm going to do with them once MOT'd and I'm still not quite sure why I've bought them in the first place.... Here's a few pics anyway... BTW the taxi sign on the XM was just for my own amusement .....

I have an XM and used to have an 02 V70 T5. Both very nice cars!

Yes I binned facebook 1st Feb. I had been thinking about it for a few months.

I've just seen the dates for Shitefest but I think I will be in Poland at that time unless my trip is delayed for some reason.

If I move the XM on I will either contact you on here or through Rich ;-)

I finally bought an XM a couple of years ago but the rear suspension was stiff and clonked like a mutha.

I loved the way it didn't plunge or dive on acceleration or braking. I didn't like the insta-lockup brakes or super stiff clutch pedal. Gr9 cars to cruise about on the motorway.

As a fellow XM owner, I have to Like a post where the shiter confesses to having the same mental condition/affliction. Sort of like a support group thing.

Bob: "I'm Bob and I'm an XM owner"

All: "Hi Bob!"

MOT the V70, polish it to within an inch of its life, and as long as it's got history or evidence of a cambelt you can still shove 'em on Autotrader for nigh-on £2k.

They are holding value stupidly well; even the n/a 2.4s.

Dark red with biscuity leather is also the bestest combination ever.

I'm going to do the cambelt as there is no evidence of it being done recently. The lacquer has gone on a couple of panels, so I will sort that and then decide what I'll do with it :-)

Is the XM early enough to have a Bosch pump?

I can't remember what pump it has now. I'll have a look again Monday. I have so many XUD engines around, I can't remember what has what :-D

I thought if they were early, they had Lucas pumps and the Bosch ones came later...

At M reg, I'd expect it to be Bosch
