taxi paul
I have an extinguisher in the kitchen and one one the landing upstairs. Has you say fire can spread really quickly and by the time you run downstairs to get the kitchen one it could be too late. inconsistant
Partridge
Recently been on a course about this kind of thing myself. To be honest, "let it burn and leg it" is biggest takeaway I had from it.Save my place of work? Bollocks to that.Save my car? Would the bastard save me in a fire? If it was the X308 it would kick me in the bollocks and pour paraffin on me. brickwall
After inconsistant's post I'm going to purchase some spares. I have one in the garage and one in the kitchen, but I think I'll have another two of decent size in the hall cupboard and in the cupboard just outside the bedrooms. MikeR
On 22/02/2017 at 18:02, inconsistant said: This morning my son (7yrs old) asked why we didn't have a fire extinguisher in the house when they had them at his school. Also a house near his school had a fire last year (faulty solar panel installation apparently) and he was asking why they had to wait for the fire engines to arrive to put the fire out. Made me wonder why we didn't have one as it seems like quite a sensible precaution (even without solar panels) as I'm usually quite risk averse and the sort of person who would have one. So I think I'll get one for the house, and probably one for the car too. Is it normal or unusual to have an extinguisher at home or in the car then? Have you got one? If so what do you recommend for home and for car? Advice thankyou please. I have a aldi 1kg job on each floor , also handy if some one breaks in ....
