Just clicked over 310,000 in the Caddy. Next jobs are a service and cambelt...and to find out what the grinding noise is at low speed 😬

My clio dci van done 200k a couple of weeks ago.20250529_115929.jpg.2709547d740f0aa552d6bf6ffac6e66e.jpg

Bought at 107k in 2019 for £280. Spares or repair with knackered egr giving all the black smoke and no power, fixed the snags and into daily service. Stuck new piston rings in at 143k to cure massive oil consumption. Mapped at 150k on £25 trade stg1 map.

Roll on 300k.

My shitting Subaru is coming up to 200k*.

I will buy it a cake, eat it, then tell it to fuck off.

Mardy great bastard.

*the clock says 200k, but the speedo drive was knackered in the original pack and the only complete cluster I could get working was from an older, higher mileage car.

Missed the 450k milestone in the couriering Caddy, was too busy listening to the football yesterday afternoon, so this pic is the best I can do.

Not long to 500k @Popsicle!

Turned over the 254k mark in the ex-@motorpunk  BMW 525 on the way home today. Still going well, still got a limp clutch, still got a wobble at 70mph😅 Managed a touch over 47mpg on the trip back from Cambridge though!

@Popsicle some mileage that! original engine?

My clio is 207k now. Been commuting a bit in it so mileage is ramping up.

My similar Focus (diesel) finally died in January after 340,000+ miles on the original engine! Can’t currently find the last pic I took.

Thanks. No its not the original engine, the previous owner spent over £4k on a recon engine at 60 something K. I had to have the top end rebuilt at 217k as the camshaft had worn on the injector lobes.

It really is Triggers Broom, I think the leaf springs, radiator, one brake caliper, intercooler, exhaust, back axle, hubs and gearbox are about the only original things left 😂

Some things I've replaced more than once, turbo, clutch/flywheel, shocks, springs and starter motor. It also likes a drop link and console bush or 3.
