Sao Man Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Hello and I know the Sao Penza hasnt been seen on UK roads since 2014 but I wonder if any one here has one in there Garage or back garden or know anyone who has a Penza,323 or Ford Tracer.
D Spares & Tyres Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 No, but there is a Ford Escort Bantam for sale in Classic Car Buyer. No pics but I`m pretty sure they were the same front end?
Alexg Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 This all seems rather familiar. John F, Dick Cheeseburger, carlo and 4 others 7
Split_Pin Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Several 323s of the type you speak of very near me and needing a new home. And welcome.
Dave_Q Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 If they were all correctly registered, and government databases are accurate (lol) then there is 1 Sao Penza left on SORN. https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/sao_penza Last one taxed was in 2013.
nisfan Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 IainL not the same guy with a collection of 626s?
Split_Pin Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Yeah, one more 626 has been added to the collection as well. They all look like the need rescuing asap.

Dick Cheeseburger Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 FOAD, wherezat then? Two of them have Devon/Cornwall registrations. Bet it's not on my doorstep though...What's the story with them?
Richard Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 It's somewhere in Scotland, I can't remember exactly where. I need to get along there and look for H898OMS so I can give it a boot in the baws. Dick Cheeseburger 1
Lacquer Peel Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Is this another Watanabe sock puppet account? alcyonecorporation 1
Alfamale Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I can put you in touch with a rather nice chap in Cape Town who will be happy to bung you one in a container and ship it to the UK if you cross his palm with silver strangeangel, Lacquer Peel and Dick Cheeseburger 3
Split_Pin Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 The Mazda collection is indeed in Scotland. If the op is genuinely interested I am sure one of us Scots who know where the cars are van signpost him or her.
alcyonecorporation Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Is this another Watanabe sock puppet account? Yeah*, a bit like marcellogandini was for you. Lacquer Peel 1
Lacquer Peel Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I blanked that out. Well remembered. alcyonecorporation 1
alcyonecorporation Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I blanked that out. Well remembered. Us insomniacs can has recall. But you gave me a braw idea for an avatar, so no bother. chaseracer, Richard and Lacquer Peel 3
nisfan Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Me and FOAD went a few years ago to see the Mazda collection with the guy who owns them, wasn't for selling much apart from the green 626 twr coupe or the silver 323 "rally car" Dick Cheeseburger 1
Lacquer Peel Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 For way above their actual (scrap) value I imagine.
nisfan Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 £700 for the coupe (around 170k miles I think) and the same for the 323
AlabamaShrimp Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 And one day there will be just a collection of snapped and falling apart cars in a field that some poor sod from the council has to come and drag away....
Dick Cheeseburger Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Holy thread revival. Just spotted this gem on facebook. 22k from new and found in the garage of a property the fella bought. Looks like there’s already lots of interest, even though it’s not actually for sale at the moment. Last remaining Sao Penza anyone? What a find! martc, Sigmund Fraud, phil_lihp and 8 others 11
martc Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 ^^^ I wonder if there's a Lonsdale up on bricks in the back garden? MorrisItalSLX and Dick Cheeseburger 1 1
MorrisItalSLX Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 If it's Re-Badged Mazda 323s you want, then the Ford Laser may be of interest https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Laser
phil_lihp Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Trigger just put that up in the News24 thread, why isn't this headline news in all the papers? It's the find of the decade! trigger 1

Ah, hadn’t seen that. Jude Currie, reveal yourself! Looks like it’s been stored for the majority of its life - no MOT history online...

Some creativity going on with the plate too, as spotted by @egg It's been 'saved' previously. Looks like it needs saving properly now. Is Nigel on the other place? Anyone on good terms with him? Interesting to know what's going on with it. egg 1
captain_70s Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Nigel is on the other place, he has loads of cars though, probably not on the priority list atm. Plate swappage potentially in order to avoid attracting attention given the car is sort of on the road.
