I'm travelling up from Stoke! Amazingly the insurance is only £210 odd with zero no claims. Can't wait not!

Well done Lankytim, I think a lot of us wouldn't have minded a couple of weeks running round in this.

I need it for a specific job, so after that it will probably be back up for sale, all nice and clean and with no signwriting. I may just fall in love with the experience and keep it though.

Don't fall in love with it, sell it to me.

I think the signwriting is one of its best features

I'll peel it off and save it so you can put it on your Laguna

I'd buy a couple of randoms for that roffle.

Imagine turning up to car meets in that!

Or even better, turn up at my parents' house "Yeah, I've got a sensible practical diesel..."

Sure!

Can vehicles with steering boxes be A framed or will the steering box lock the steering solid? Aren't they a worm drive or something?

I'm getting driving up with the missus and making a day of it "spending time together" and tat collection, 2 birds, 1 stone.

Someone win/buy it and bring it south all the way down to Sussex would be good then sell it to me !

I have A-framed a Niva once or twice. It didn't behave at all well, but I attributed that to the angles of the wishbones where we mounted the "A", rather than the fact it uses a steering box.

It isn't an old Gatwick depot FedEx van , too new for that , unless it was from London area . We broke them often but good fun to drive

Could it be an old fleet fan of some description? I'd love to find out some history on it.

Posted

It seems to have been registered in a fleet - I mistyped the reg number and got it 20 or 30 out  and it came back as exactly the same white LDV (but scrapped ten years ago)

That looks like an ex-Federal Express home delivery van. CLASS. High-water mark for build quality on that MY too.

Any way of finding out? I've tried to google pics and have turned up nothing.

All these vans! Thing for me is the bloody London LEZ bollocks which prohibits me from purchasing anything interesting and dizzle powered unless it is compliant.

Can a reg search be done on the LEZ website?

Yes google LEZ checker and chuck the reg in there.
