430 miles one way..

I fancied an old cav and saw one but it's over 7 hrs from me, even the seller said I'm brave

No.

Bought 45 year old Mini 1000 600 kms away and drove it back. Took 9 hours to drive and 9 weeks to recover. Might not have done it if I had noticed the tyres were 25 years old..but nothing happened so it was a good idea

Did we ever find out if the buyer of Trigger's Audi made it back to Shetland?  Or was it Orkney?

I think my furthest collection has been around 300 miles each way which is pretty tame around here but over the years I've sold 4 Range Rover classics and the buyers have come from

1. Amsterdam

2. John O'Groats

3. Guernsey

4. Armagh

Considering I'm in North Norfolk those were pretty epic collections.

I went from Fife to Liverpool for mine, they've got a fugging cheek calling Liverpool The North. Not all of the car was in Liverpool so the return journey was via Durham.

Get a fucking grip

Where are you and where is the car?

^^^ what he said, if there's an A/S member near the car in question they could potentially collect it and stash it for a little while or maybe help with getting it closer to you.

If you want it, just do it.

And yesterday I got to drive that very Visa.  Merci beaucoup.

The buyer of my mk2 Cav CD came from County Kerry, I travelled from North Yorkshire to Holyhead to meet him off the boat.  He did me over on the delivery fuel money (we used my other car to drop it off) by not paying up as promised.  I should have sold it to someone else, or just not sold it.
One day I'm going to France for a Renault 14.

Cheap bus journeys are the way to go. I have done Glasgow to Gloucester and Pembroke for cars. Meeting owners late at night and then driving the heaps over the Welsh mountains through the night is ace. My last 2 cars have been bought local and it was absolute shite!

I did a 440 mile trip to London to collect a 205 last weekend from near Edinburgh.

I was in Somerset last weekend, have contacts in Devon and flew back home to N.E. England, I could have drove it back.

Then I could have trailered it from here to Glasgow.

It's always worth asking.
