Leon Cupra, six speed manual. Cold climate control (re-gassed for summer), 4x electric windows, electric folding mirrors, remote locking. MOT to June 2017, taxed to GET U OME M9. 

 

Good bits

 

Goes like FOOK, boosts well

Everything works

No clunks, rattles, knocks or smoke

Looks nice

 

Bad bits

 

Runs a bit cold. I have a new stat for it, but have never got to fitting it, as it's a bit fiddly to get to.

Has a scratch on N/S doors, where some back-to-front keyed it. It's not that bad, bit it's visible. 

Brake pad warning light is on. I think this is because the fronts don't have wear sensors fitted. There's definitely plenty on the pads.

 

Honestly reluctant to let this go, as I do like it, but I'm getting a bit strapped for cash, and could do with something more economical. With this in mind, I may take an economical PX, or a small auto for MUTHA_SPORTY.

Great motors these, I have the Ibiza cupra of the same vintage, I should have bought the Leon though as really I'm a bit old for the Ibiza as its GANGSTA MAN.

Re:thermostat it's actually pretty easy to do as VW in their wisdom used 10mm M6 bolts with a deep cross head screw pressed into them so with a 3/8's socket set and bit adapter I got mine out in 5 mins, you tube vids make out its 1/2 a days work, utter bollox. Found out mine had no stat, but runs to temp perfectly, sat in traffic for hours on the m6 OMGTRAFFICKAOS never boiled or cooled. Very odd???

As Mr Shite has said, these go like a scalded cat, and i've never had anything fwd that handled like it. I decided that 2 years with SWMBO whining at me was enough, and flogged it.

 

Sold mine to a Romainian bloke who was going to strip it for bits - apparently the 6 speed box is in demand from Skoda VRS owners.
