Interesting, I guess if it was a yank it would do regardless of the original user.

As I say refurbing x army lorries, in particular yankee ones, was a big deal in that part of the world with many small firms involved, some withered up (as the supply withered up) others diversified. One that survived is MOL, who specialised in adding civilian appropriate bodies to army chassis and converting 2wd to 4wd.

MOL are still with us and there's still a distinct WW2 look about some of their wagons -

Looking at their website they do all sorts of stuff - trailers, railway shunters, dustbin wagons, warehouse tugs, have a look here https://www.molcy.com/en/

Today I got to drive an electric truck, the first electric vehicle (apart from forklift trucks) I’ve ever driven and can conclude it’s definitely not for me. The company I work for has apparently ordered 13 of these for dedicated use on a Spar contract delivering from a distribution hub to the convenience stores in a fairly local area and mainly urban locations.

These are fine for this work as it’s not much mileage and light loads which are the limitations of use, I found it completely devoid of any driver engagement, and it’s just completely unsuitable for the sort of work I do thankfully…

How did you find the camera system, is it better than mirrors?

Not bad, again first time I’ve driven a vehicle with this system.

Did you find it was just a bit boring to drive? I would have thought it'd be similar output to a diesel i.e. about 400 kW, and basically everything is an automated manual anyway - so I imagine quite boring and frustrating to drive!

Do EV trucks go into regen mode as soon as you take your foot off the gas like EV cars?

I doubt EV trucks will really catch on other than maybe local distribution, bin lorries etc.

Several £'s worth on board.

The uncovered ones were probably rusty before they got to the showrooms.

1985,  a very special Renault Master modified to look like a TGV by Durisotti. This van was used during the Tour de France. Spot the barmy looking pink thing in the background, it looks like it has a handle on the roof and two speakers - a pink ghetto blaster?

Automobile Club of Italy. Note the  FIAT 625, these were made between 1965 to 1972 but it has an IVECO badge, who started in 1975. So, did FIAT continue making the 625 for valued customers, in the same way that Bedford made HA vans for years for the utilities, or has someone at the ACI added the badge (which seems very unprofessional for a national rescue organisation)?

They are indeed. We’ve had an 18 ton rigid version running out of our depot for about 4 months now and it’s only allowed to operate within the boundary of the City and it’s been off the road with issues on numerous occasions, it’s driver hates it, he also isn’t keen on his new nickname ‘Ernie’

Yes I did find it boring to drive, as all lorry driver’s would agree  you can’t beat the sound and feel of a big diesel engine. I believe it does the regen thing as you alluded to.

Couple of pics from the last few days, the Scania wrecker dragged in one of ours that had thrown a rod through the block, the wrecker looked and sounded superb! And my unit and a Volvo in lovely autumnal morning light..

Be impressive if it went like a TGV.
