Ah fair enough. Brave man then, doing it after dark! Got a torch for seeing under the bonnet?

I'll tune in after dinner

Now that I wouldn't trust even if it was on the ground!

I know a lot about materials strength etc etc.

I'm in the queue for the boat now. Unsure how long this bit will take, do I risk topping the water up now? I topped up before entering the tunnel and I'd only used about a cm at that point

Bloody top deck, which meant powering up the mega steep ramp and hoping the car in front wouldn't stop.....im sure the handbrake is grand but wouldn't like that to be my first hill start!

As you can see all XM drivers travel in the luxury* of the stena plus lounge

and sod the stena plus longue, cant you stay in the citroen lounge?

I bet if I was on a French boat I could....

Some older dude came over for a chat while I was waiting to board, claimed he had 17 Citroëns. He was driving a Lucida he had just bought so clearly a man of taste

Graffiti in the boat bogs. I wonder what became of Mark and his friend.

All systems go for disembarking the boat. Expansion tank was half empty so topped that up.....96a9f0d92e2a48bdb90c74883fa2cd40.jpg

This is the ramp on the way down from the top deck. This is the same one I went up, and with the handbrake being both an unknown quantity and foot operated I really didn't fancy doing a hill start. Thankfully the car in front kept going. Easy on the way down although it narrows and the XM felt like it was almost the full width of the ramp!

So off the boat, and a quick stop to check the coolant before joining the motorway

It didn't need any, so on I went. Few miles and I was off the motorway and stopped for supplies. Looks mean hiding behind the hedge. Pity the lamppost was in the way, and I'm shite at picture taking

Three fuss free miles later and I'm home (well almost. There was a terrible smell of burning oil, which turned out to be the megane in front thankfully!)

And here is the glorious view from my kitchen door:

Great success all round!

To be honest it was all very easy, and any anxiety over coolant etc was misplaced. As I said Jonathan was a gent to deal with and the car didn't miss a beat.
