Good news everyone

NOVA declaration done.

Insured

Pre MOT done, needs 2 shocks and 3 tyres.

Proper MOT will be Monday, if I can get the shocks fitted tomorrow....

Then V55/5 and registered!

Still need new seats as they are fecked, and some inertia reel seat belts..

As for the Metro, it is my daily at the moment as the company car is in the garage with a fecked gearbox after 25,000 miles!

Oh that is lovely and completely dire at the same time.

Speshley love the speedo - leave in kmph and mark 30 and (optimistically) 70 with blobs of Tippex to fool passengers in the Hungarian Hornet.

If you are on FB, look for Ed Hughes, he's Practical Classics resident Lada botherer, and an all round decent chap, owt you need to know about Ladas, he's your man

Felly - there's very little I don't know about Ladas, I've had plenty of them :)

Nice 2101, more of a 2105 man myself though (have two of the bloody things !)

Good luck with it * hope it gives you good service.

That's superb, lovely original shape Lada. If you get tired of fiddling with your own Lada, there is a You Tube chap I subscribe to called Lexx. Proper Russian shiteist, serial Lada resuscitator and all round English-speaking gent with several 2101 models. Cracking evenings viewing.

Yes, I prefer the 2105 too, may end up doing a swap/ trade at some point.

Handsome solid looking thing and a fine example of something not being broken nor needing to be fixed.  I hope you keep this one more than five minutes.

Another redundant Leeds reg being issued at random by the DVLA, a mate's Polonez Caro has a Bradford area reg, even though it's London based

There are no local offices now Marty; when I re-registered my old 760 Turbo before it went binward (E33 XGD), it was allocated E952 HFG. Strangely the new number wasn't marked as non-transferable.

When he reg'd his Caro though, the regional offices were still open, his 125P is Essex reg'd strangely though. I noticed the past few years, loads of UG reg's have been issued to imports, especially American stuff

A shame you cannot tell where a car was registered from the numberplate nowadays. You used to until the late 1990s/early 2000s.
