scaryoldcortina Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Saw this today, no signs or banners, nowhere near a dealers, just parked on some grass.
Pillock Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Saw this today, no signs or banners, nowhere near a dealers, just parked on some grass. Offroader, innit?
unclecalzone Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Will make a perfect engine donor for a decent 75 or other k series powered car. Think of that eh, a k series that doesn't kettle. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
scaryoldcortina Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Offroader, innit? Yeah, but the bit of grass is surrounded by carparks, which is why I thought it was a bit odd.
Jim Bergerac Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 MG are doing some road test road show. In Glasgow the other day, Newcastle today so that will explain it. Obviously inundated with interested parties by the looks of that picture.
scaryoldcortina Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 That does explain it. Everyone involved will have been in the bar of the Marriot hotel trying to forget all about it. dugong 1
Richard Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Off topic but have you needed to add a second digit to your Laguna not breaking down counter yet?
scaryoldcortina Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 No need, it's broken. I'm driving the MG instead because both back calipers are fubar and the MoT ran out. Richard 1
scaryoldcortina Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 No, that's a GS, and it looks even more huge because I'm looking up at it from a TF
cort16 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I got an offer through the other day, 38% off a new Renner Megane. Still wouldn't though, well maybe the RS one.
Pillock Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Yeah, but the bit of grass is surrounded by carparks, which is why I thought it was a bit odd. Why on earth would you park an offroader in a carpark? ONE LIFE LIVE IT ON THE GRASS VERGE. rml2345, Wilko220 and dugong 3
HH-R Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 It looks alright, for a modern. Like a 3 Streetwise. [hides] Still wouldn't buy one, though. Not new anyway!
Guest Lord Sward Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I'm quite, quite sure the leather in Chinese MGs is from the pig and not the cow.
HH-R Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 What was the pleather in run out MGR stuff made out of? It wore out before the warranty (would have been) up.
dugong Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 What was the pleather in run out MGR stuff made out of? It wore out before the warranty (would have been) up. Top Gear researchers.
andrew e Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I sat in this at the Suffolk show - OK, but not at Qashqai money. The only thing I remember is the availability of beige pleather and the sills taking your shins out getting in. 5/10 dugong 1
dugong Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 One's appeared in the Queensgate shopping centre as part of an increasingly desperate bid by the local Chevrolet / MG dealer. If I can be suitably arsed tomorrow I might get a shot of it - then again, I might be incredibly pissed off at East Anglia's psychotic levels of racism in the morning.
C1am Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 My MG brochure arrived today! I now have the opportunity to "Go large with MG6." What does it mean?
plasticvandan Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 it means it comes with fries Vince70, Pillock and Sheefag 3
Kiltox Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Is that a GM steering wheel or just a copy? Looks very similar to the Astra J's
Landy Mann Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 It looks alright, for a modern. Like a 3 Streetwise. [hides] Still wouldn't buy one, though. Not new anyway! They exist, but unfortunately not in the UK, I present the MG3 Xcross! And yes I would if they were sold here and cost £500. In the mean time I'll enjoy my post project drive plether. 155V6 and Lacquer Peel 2
Pillock Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 What the fuck are those people doing? Tits. Vince70 1
Felly Magic Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Is that a GM steering wheel or just a copy? Looks very similar to the Astra J'sIt's the same as in the Daewoo Mokka! rml2345 1
Pillock Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 What's the link there then?I sat in a Chevy Cruze (?) and the dashboard area was 90% Astra, but they're GM siblings. Daewoo isn't is it? Nor MG. Edit: further photos show that the steering wheels, instruments, stalks etc look like Vauxhall ones but aren't the same. Seems the Chinese just like to copy existing designs, who'd have thunk?
rml2345 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Daewoo ended up with GM when it went phut. Incedentally, is Chevroletwoo not leaving the UK market soon anyway? Whoever managed to get a Chevy/MG dealer together must be passionate about selling mediocrity. Vince70 1
Felly Magic Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 GM is fully in bed with SAIC now, the Mokka is built by the old Daewoo company which was re named Chevy for Yerop, just has Pauxhall badges nailed on, and was previously badged a Chevrolet, and is sold in Yank as a Chevrolet too, seen a few US squaddies driving them around Bury st Eds. That switchgear is 100% GM, even the headlight controls and gearnob are the same as the Mokka, I suspect it could even be on the Mokka platform
