Cheers man - was yours the recent donation? Thank you.

Well, I just spotted a 70s Datsun on Pollockshaws Road in Glasgow this evening - I was 4 cars behind in traffic and then mysteriously lost it before I got a snap grr. Maybe it made a breakneck getaway!? O well one to look out for I reckon - it was awesomely shite with I think, quite a good patina all over one rear quarter - deffo need to catch it again.

sorry on the lack of pix and that they're shit cameraphone snaps but one or two recents.

This is often at the end of my street LHD early days M3

Got a tattoo recently and this fine beast was outside - turns out it was the tattoist's (he had quite an impressive back catalogue of grot)

Posted Image

Posted Image

That is all I have  just now but here's a rusty, not so old C class coupé for your amusement

Posted Image

Note to self: must get more shite spots!!!

Posted

O FFS! they've gone all small again - can't see the frankly quite bad rust on the MB..

Is there sommin up with Photobucket? is this coz I am running out of space on PB and can't be arsed with a 'PRO' account? or is there some shit up with my shite cameraphone?

We just don't know...

EDIT: think the camera settings were all wrong - was on 'macro' I think , future photos will be proppa - just can't be arsed carting the DSLR around for street shots

You mean he has the history of his car ownership tattooed on his back?

hahahaha1 that's what I get for crappy punctuation I reckonz!

Nah, we were chatting about old cars and he's had all manner of chod such as Saabs (the Carlsson is the last one he ever got but he has had 99s, 900s etc) Various Triumphs including a Spitfire with no hood at all, Capri, Escort Mk1 etc but I was in relative pain at the time so might have been more to his list..

Not at all - I didn't see anything wrong with what you wrote, it was just a bit of intentional misinterpretation for my own childish entertainment :D

My shite spotting has been shite lately! but a couple of crap snaps for your amusement beginning with this excellent shite Mondeo snapped a few weeks ago.

DSC02411.jpg

complete with tacked-on plastichrome and 4 badges - do yuh think it's a Ford? me no sure (also, it had no sign of gaffer tape on either front or rear bumper!!)

Due to my shit life falling apart I moved back with my parents a month back and now return to small town living where the local neds (chavs) laugh and point at the mightly shitroen. You'd not expect anything of interest in shitsville but to cheer myself I visited the local Aldi. I thought I spotted something of mild interest over the carpark back wall..... only to snap this:

DSC02417.jpg

And these on the drive of the same house:

DSC02418.jpg

I think this happily varied collection deserves a wee bit of praise!

So, living in what looks much like GREENLAND the last couple of days, the coppers warned everyone to stay at home unless your journey was absolutely necessary... so I went to work all three 'bad' days anyway and was faced with this as the M8 motorway.. nice and clear of other stupid drivers.

DSC02424.jpg

Get in to Glasgow and stuck in slippy traffic with a stupid BMW in front and another behind me - both making a right arse of the winter driving. But what's the abandoned truck I suddenly spy??

DSC02425.jpg

I highly awesome Kenworth

DSC02426.jpg

Look at the size of the 'sleeping quarters' in the cab!! Sat TV, microwave, velour padded luxury and a couple of hunnys and who needs a house?! You could live in this. I think he might even have been living in this abandoned Kenworth. The sheer number of abandoned vehicles around the Central belt of Scotland is scary - they're everywhere and many are fairly plush machines: Porsches and Alfas etc. There are a lot of abandoned BMWs and Audis. I'm seriously surprised that they've not all been broken into..

Now it's all thawing and still there's abandoned cars and vans everywhere.

Posted

Fuk sake, some of the above photos seem to have been 'cropped' automatically! wtf will try and sort.

Posted

Don't worry, that's just the way the new board rolls - right click and view image gives you the whole shebang.

Excellent work. I just didn't know for sure, I knew it was Jap material though. Blimmin nice nonetheless.

It is very close to me but I note that it has vanished in recent weeks.... probably hiding from the -13Ëšc of the last 2 daze..

I know its a while back now, but did you snap that old Volvo 440 outside the Hospital in Langside? That road was on my Jogging route from Garry Street in Cathcart, whilst going towards Grange Road. I remember regularly seeing a white Mk2 Capri FFC166S parked in the hospital car park :)

That was 2003, I dont think its stil going now.

M-ways were like driving on sand dunes yesterday according to Mrs_L who commutes to Cumbernauld along the A80 every day :(

Posted

Chryst! the M80! she's brave...

Not sure about the Capri or Volvo tho.

I have a crappy picture tho of a Vectra on the M8 going back that same night and it's totally covered in snow like 4" thick. The rear window is absolutely covered. And due to the conditions I could not get past them! I had to watch as blocks of snow continuously cascaded off towards my front window. 100% idiot that clearly never checks their rear view mirror. I mean how long would it have taken to push that snow off the rear window??

Anyway it was fuggin terrible driving the last 3 days. Took me 2+ hours to do 20 miles!

That golden-brown thingy is a Datsun Laurel the same as SpottedLaurel's one

I was just about to say the same thing, I've not seen SL on here lately but I'm sure he will get very excited when he sees that!

Posted

Well I'm almost tempted to linger near there long enough to accidently bump into the owner of this as he/ they are clearly into the older automobile though playing it safe with their accompanying German devices.

I am sure that this very same house had the silver CX Athena that was in the local car lot (proper portacabin and red chips type) that used to be in this little town, it was there around 1994-5 while me and my mate used to cruise around on our bikes looking at cars and such (the days where you could find an Escort RS Cosworth just parked up as we did one evening (not in the car lot tho!)) I am absolutely certain the CX was there for a while before it disappeared for good. In fact that was even before the Aldi was built (it had first of all been a 'Kwiksave') and was just waste ground between the main road in Carluke and this street where the Laurel was. We found our first discarded porno there..

Posted

Been at the local Aldi again today, thought I'd have a quick look at the same property that had the Laurel and the CX years back and it has come up with this cracker

Cortina - not certain what version: looks mildly sporty but the little badge on the rear wing maybe a Ghia?
