Boo ! Not really suprising though, it's pretty bleak down here in Falkirk, it must be a whiteout up on the 'hill.

I am looking at Blyton Park for 21st April if anyone fancies it. It's £140 for all day and every extra driver is £10. So couple of people will give you a track day for probably £100.

Can get instruction for £20 for 20 mins which is a bonus.

Book it. Book it book it.. etc

I'm up for it, missing out on the one in march was rather annoying so I shall book my place when I get home tonight. reverse is like learning a whole new circuit, new corners, cambers etc - Clarks in reverse is just as demanding as Duffus is in normal direction - a leap of faith first time round :)

right, that's that booked, I'd better give the car a good going over at the weekend, it's barely moved for months :(

Only 7 places left now, don't hang around too long Tickman :)

That sounds great, if only it wasn't so far away. I would expect to use more than one tank of fuel on a full day session, I can twang one and a half in four hours up at knockers :)

I go up to Knockhill pretty often, the BSB and BTCC are always a good day. I do enjoy the SMRC meetings though, particularly the classics and sports cars, see some splendid old chod.

Never done a track day though, never really had an appropriate vehicle!

Yep think might do some petrol during the day. Just seeing if NJG Leeds is able to come out and play.

Of course, It's SMRC this Sunday, I may take a wander up in the afternoon if the sun is shining :)

Or it's the pre season warmup at the Forrestburn hillclimb course, which is also worth a look out.

However, I have a 10k race in the morning, so may possibly do neither, depending on how knackered I am.

NJGleeds is just about still talking to me after changing the diff bushes on the MX5.

Made a world of difference so it is ready for Sat track event. I am getting quite excited by it all!

General question - Will petrol stations get arsey if you fill up a 20l metal jerry can?

Posted

It depends if they can see what you are doing, also quite a few unmanned pay at pump places round here.

Fair point - hadnt thought of that. Will do a midnight raid on the local ASDA to fill up

I was reading the regs on jerry cans yesterday at my local tescos, they say 10litres max in a plastic can, 20litres in a metal can, no more than 30litres per visit. I usually stand my plastic 20litre can in the boot of the mazda where they can't see what I'm doing, never been a problem so far.

Have fun at the track, and look after little avo :)

Did this yesterday. No one died. I wasnt arrested
